Looking in to it. Thank you!

Did it not install to your Darktide installation directory once the release day patch had completed?

Comment

Sorry to hear that. I’ve pinged this over to development.

I’m not sure what’s happening here admittedly, the logs are truncated. Please see: https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/7709661288733--PC-How-to-Resolve-Crashes-in-Darktide

I put the request in to Easy Anti-Cheat to approve this DLL and they actioned it. If it doesn’t work after a second launch as mentioned by @PocketSand , let me know.

Rejects,

Today, we officially launch Warhammer 40,000: Darktide! This is a moment that many of us have been looking forward to for quite a while, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our “labor of love” with you. We believe we have created something special that we will build on for years to come, and we look forward to your continued support and feedback along the way.

Many of you joined us along this journey to get here, whether...

We are working on an issue where the ‘Worker Thread’ count defaults to a value that may be too high for some PCs, which consequently has a negative impact on your performance.

In the mean time, we recommend lowering your ‘Worker Thread’ count - this value may vary depending on your unique set-up, so we recommend to experiment with what works for you.

For example: on a Threadripper CPU, it will default to a whooping 61 Worker Threads. In this example, you may wish to lower it to 16.

We are continuing to investigate an issue that was reported during the Pre-Order Beta concerning some players observing an ‘Out of Memory’ error.

Firstly, please ensure your 'Virtual Memory’ in Windows is set to ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ by:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > System and Security
  2. Select ‘System’
  3. Select ‘Advanced system settings’
  4. Under the ‘Advanced’ tab, select the ‘Settings’ button underneath ‘Performance’
  5. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab
  6. Select the ‘Change’ button underneath ‘Virtual memory’
  7. Ensure the ‘Automatically Manage Paging File Size for All Drives’ checkbox is marked
  8. Restart your PC

In the event that you are still encountering this error, please help us investigate by including the information listed below in your report:

Issue Description:

Crash Report (If Applicable):

I would say hold on until the release patch, but the error below indicates more of a localised GPU issue, as opposed to the errors that we would traditionally see when we’ve messed something up on our end:

DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR

I recommend reaching out to NVIDIA and seeing if they can assist with this.

We made some changes, but that’s for another thread eh! Keep an eye out for the notes!

Ray Tracing is currently unavailable for AMD and Intel GPUs due to issues with this implementation that we are currently addressing.

We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

We do hear this feedback and whilst launch won’t immediately change things, we are taking on board all the feedback being shared pretty much everywhere and will work to alleviate the chores being talked about.

Ah I see, keep me posted!

That’s good to know, thanks. I was checking as lobbies can sometimes become corrupted, which would prevent either of you from being able to join again - but this rules that theory out.

I also wondered about possible routing incompatibility between you and your friend, but usually this would prevent either of you from joining in the first place - so I think another theory potentially ruled out. Though, if no other solutions work, then I would still recommend reaching out to your ISP and explaining the situation to them, in case they are able to identify any issues.

Hi @MaxSidetracks,

We have a fix internally for cosmetics not saving correctly for Offline players. This will be coming in our next console patch which I believe is currrently aimed during December.

Apologies for any inconvenience in the mean time!

Hi @Smite,

Sorry to hear that! You say that the game is crashing upon pressing play?

If possible, can you please provide either a crash report or your console log and launcher log so we can take a look?

The rollout of new servers with launch should continue to mitigate the issue. Keep us posted.

Hi @Aether90,

Are you able to right-click Command Prompt and select ‘Run as Administrator’. Does this work?

If you’re finding that Command Prompt is still automatically closing, then there’s likely an underlying Windows issue. I can’t advise on this, but there are many solutions to this online provided by Microsoft Support if you search it up: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us
