Hi my name is Joakim Setterberg and I’m the Design Director on Vermintide 2. In this devblog I want to talk about Versus’ upcoming Beta August Test - or BAT - coming August 21st. With the BAT we’re wrapping up most of the larger systems and features of the core game mode. With a few exceptions, our main focus up to release will be to work with surrounding systems and refining the content, to polish the Versus experience and, to quote the team, “fix the jank”.

First, a note on feedback. For every test we do we collect as much of your feedback as possible to find out what we can improve and fix. We sort it, rank it, and talk about what we want to accomplish for the next test. Sometimes there’s a straight-forward way to solve a problem or to implement a suggestion, but other times we’ll go in a slightly different direction, if we believe a problem lies elsewhere. Hello! Yes, I can confirm that this issue has been fixed. We should not expect ridiculously large patch sizes at all in the future.

In general, we should expect that most hotfixes will be a few MB in size. Big patches can be up to around 4 to 5 GB but will be less than that on average. No more 25+ GB patches, for sure! fingers crossed

20 is correct, its also reduced by damage reduction
In normal CW, it also does 20 damage

The mini barrels from the boon cause this, they arent considered "friendly fire" so they will do 80 damage (without damage reduction) and 4 of them means you take 32...

Bots copy the Hero Power of the host, but their equipped gear's properties & traits does affect them. So if you have a bot with a sword with +10% power vs Chaos, the bot will copy the host's hero power and then get a power bonus when hitting chaos stuff.

Bots are also affected by the talents they have equipped normally.

Bogenhafen chests only have one item IIRC. They will always give you cosmetics but they should be pretty rare since we reworked the bogenhafen cosmetics to be obtainable from the store using shillings instead

Greetings Heroes and Pactsworn,
My name is Joakim, Design Director on Vermintide 2, here with a game update recap just in time for the summer.

As you all know, we started this year with a Closed and an Open Alpha Test for Versus, we celebrated the 6th Anniversary with a Quiet Drink and then wrapped up the Karak Azgaraz storyline with A Parting of the Waves - where Kruber’s team building excursion led to an encounter with a new type of Chaos Warrior.

A bit over a month ago, for Warhammer Skulls 2024, we released a big Chaos Wastes and Things™ update where we introduced Weekly Expeditions with new boons and rewards. Per popular demand, we added a loadout system to the game as well as the (even more requested) option to equip weapon illusions outside of Weaves. It's just plug and play and the game will switch to whatever input method you choose to use instantly on both PC and Xbox by just using said input device. There are also 5 alternate button layouts aswell as a bunch of settings in the options menu

I fails at creating the DirectX device (basically the rendering backend). From what I can tell it seems to use the Windows basic driver for your graphics card that doesn't support directX 12. Maybe try to update your drivers or try starting the game in DirectX 11 mode

Surprise! We've actually decided to extend the Versus Alpha for another week! Today's hotfix, 5.5.6, includes a few fixes to both Adventure mode and Versus, and has some balance adjustments made to the playable Pactsworn for Versus.

The RAT will now end on June 17th! Starting from yesterday and until the end of the test, the Versus servers will automatically swap between the three active Versus maps: Against the Grain, Righteous Stand and Screaming Bell. You get to play all of them this week and have more fun with our playable Bile Troll!

Just to clarify, it's not that the issue hasn't gone unfixed for 6 years lol. We had a bug 6 years ago, it got fixed, we have a new bug now that started last week.

As Lev & Maitre mentioned, we're investigating and working on the issue and will hopefully have a fix soon.

We have a priority system when it comes to VO and gameplay always comes first. It would be fairly easy for a modder to tweak this though and it sounds like something we would sanction
