I can’t give a timeline, but as I’ve written in the FAQ, keep your ear to the ground and your eyes peeled!

The Console Developer replied, but they have suggested very similar. They asked if you can run through the steps similar to before but select “Adult Defaults” and confirm the switch.

Let me know if you have any luck with this. Otherwise, I hope that Microsoft Support is able to be of more help.

Hmm okay, this is admittedly quite baffling!

I’ve contacted one of our Console Developers and asked if they can take a look at this for you, and if they have any further suggestions. Due to the bank holiday weekend, I may not receive a reply immediately - but I’ll let you know as soon as I have any response.

It may also be worth contacting Microsoft Support and querying this with them, in case there is any issue with your online subscription. Though I do appreciate that you’ve mentioned you can play other games fine, they still might be better suited to assist.

Please let me know if anything changes, and I’ll be in touch as soon as I hear anything.

Thanks @chester.hahn313, everything appears to be fine from a backend perspective.

Can you please try the following:

  1. In Xbox Settings, go to ‘Privacy and Online Safety’
  2. Go to ‘Xbox Privacy’
  3. Go to ‘View details and customize’ (if Adult defaults is selected, it should be fine but please also go to View details and customize)
  4. Under ‘Communication & Multiplayer’ make sure ‘Allow’ is selected for ‘You can join multiplayer games’

Please let me know how this goes.

Hi @chester.hahn313,

What is your Gamertag?

Also, does the issue persist after restarting both your Xbox and your router?

Hm okay :frowning: the new crash report shows the same occurrence, with a Deadlock type crash and the Exit Code as before.

Have you made any recent changes to your PC? any Windows updates? or Driver updates?

It’s a shot in the dark, but it could be worth performing a clean re-installation which can sometimes help with more complex issues. This involves uninstalling Vermintide 2 as normal, and then proceeding to remove your AppData directory by:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Vermintide 2’ directory

Please be aware that by removing your AppData, you will lose any custom configurations such as keybindings. Your progress won’t be impacted, as it’s stored on our servers....

Hi @Goregutz,

Thank you. We’ve taken a look at your account, but from a backend perspective nothing appears to be incorrect.

Unfortunately, in this circumstance there isn’t anything further we’re able to do. Apologies!

Hm, I’m at a loss here, as progression for a single character shouldn’t technically ever be reset. For a DLC career, e.g. Grail Knight, if the DLC was refunded then any items linked to that would become inaccessible - but for Footknight this wouldn’t apply.

Can you please provide me with your Steam profile URL (or Gamertag/PSN ID) so we can take a look to see if anything is out of place in the backend?

Thanks!

Hi @mangeorge,

Your logs show you’re running into a Deadlock type crash, with an Exit Code 0xFA718003.

This Exit Code is usually associated with Anti-Virus/Firewall causing a crash on launch. I appreciate that you’re not crashing immediately when launching the game, but I suspect this may still be the cause.

Which Anti-Virus software do you use?

Please ensure that appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions are in place for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat.

You’ll need to add exceptions for:

  • vermintide2.exe in Program Files \(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries
  • EasyAntiCheat.exe in \Program Files (x86)\Eas...

Okay, appreciate the info! If you can provide a screenshot or a video showing the VO dialogue not playing that would be useful. Thanks!

This is an intended change so all invisibility effects in-game are shown consistently through the UI.

@WhereIsBaoDur, hmm, we aren’t able to reproduce this. A developer investigating has asked if you can try verifying your game files (just in case!) and have asked if your game is installed on a HDD or SSD?

  1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify the Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

Gotcha, we’ll take another look. Thank you!

That’s part of the solve, but it’s also apparently a bit more complicated than that, I’m told. Let us know how it goes!
