In today’s Alpha build, Inscription has been enabled and can be trained by the Associate Professor Instructaur in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. In addition to the traditional Inscription recipes, we’re introducing a new system to Inscription: the Darkmoon Deck Box. Scribes that have fully unlocked the Darkmoon Mysteries specialization tree will be able to make Darkmoon Booster Packs that contain the cards necessary to create traditional Darkmoon Decks much like before. However, Scribes can now use these Darkmoon Decks to craft Darkmoon Deck Boxes, which are higher item level and are able to be inscribed with Scale Sigils that allow them to customize their Darkmoon Deck Box with different attributes, such as removing all Even cards from the deck, shuffling faster or only shuffling when the player jumps. We’re very interested in feedback on this new system, so please let us know how it feels once you’re able to playtest with it!

In this thread, please post your thoughts and feedback on updates to the Inscription profession in the Dragonflight alpha.

We feel that all three Warrior specializations have excellent foundations for both their class fantasies and with regard to how fun their rotations are to play. So, our goal for the class in Dragonflight has been to evolve and enhance each specialization rather than to revolutionize or rebuild them.

We’re trying to strike a balance between existing things you know and love, exciting new talents and greatest hits from that past such as Blood and Thunder, Odyn’s Fury and Cold Steel, Hot Blood.

With this in mind, players should expect core rotations to feel comfortable and familiar but with a much wider variety of choice in terms of which elements they can enhance. In addition to this we’re also attempting to build in support to enable players to experiment with more varied playstyles if they desire, such as the Arms being able to heavily investing in damage over time abilities and Fury being able to double down on auto attacks.

• CRAFTING STATIONS
  • Professions now require Crafting Stations for the majority of all crafts, outside of the simplest and easiest recipes. The goal of these stations is to help increase the immersion and fantasy of your chosen profession and enhance the social experience. You will find many of these stations scattered throughout the regions of the Dragon Isles for your convenience during leveling, including a large profession hub in Valdrakken which includes all of the crafting stations in addition to vendors and trainers. Please let us know how this requirement feels, especially if you find the requirement too harsh in certain zones.

A little while ago, our Executive Producer asked our Lead Live Operations Producer to distill the answer to the question “Why?”. This is what he said,

We have the goal of performing Season transitions while keeping realms online for all regions. Due to how a number of systems were originally architected, we’ve had challenges in the past, and we iterate through issues each time. We work through expected issues quickly, but there are always unexpected issues that we can only deal with by testing on the realms in a hidden state. (Hidden because we didn’t want all players to feel the impact of our fixes – some require large data jobs). A number of issues we discover during maintenance require fixing while keeping realms offline to avoid in-game economy damage or players encountering bugs because they happened to be online just before we fixed them.

Overall, we’re able to minimize future downtime by finding and fixing “last minute” issues like this. As a result...

Thank you for this feedback. We selected the timing of this buff to specifically benefit players who were preparing for Season 4.

We’re always thinking about when might be the right time to do an XP buff again in the future, and we do not have any immediate plans to announce at this time, but we’ll take this feedback into account when considering future leveling bonus events.

Our fix for the bug has been tested and deployed. The season has just resumed.

This week’s vault will be capped at Season 3 item level, and next week’s vault will be at Season 4 item level. Thanks for the question! I’ve updated the post to clarify.

With Shadowlands Season 4 starting this week, we want to provide extra clarification on this week’s Great Vault. Here’s what to expect:

• Time a Mythic+ 18 to earn a +15 keystone this week.
• Season 4 Great Vault rewards will begin with August 9 weekly resets.
• Attendant’s Tokens of Merit selected this week can only be sold for 1000 gold each.
