Working from player feedback and internal data, we’ve developed the following class tuning changes to address several over- and under-performing classes. These adjustments will be applied to the live game with scheduled weekly maintenance on Tuesday, June 27 in this region.

Classes

Death Knight

  • Blood
    • All damaging abilities increased by 6.5%.

Demon Hunter

  • Havoc
    • Chaos Strike/Annihilation damage increased by 15%.
    • Melee autoattack damage increased by 15%.
    • Demon Blades damage increased by 15%.
    • Demon’s Bite damage increased by 15%.
    • Felblade damage increased by 15%.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic

  • Dungeons and Raids
    • Utgarde Pinnacle and Utgarde Keep
      • Fixed an issue where Fire Blast on Titan Rune Protocol Beta difficulty was occasionally doing 10 damage instead of 10% of a player’s max health.
  • Player versus Player
    • Mercenary Mode for Isle of Conquest has been disabled.

We have seen some concerns regarding the difficulty of the Zskarn encounter and wanted share some changes that are planned for after next week’s resets:

The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn

  • Dragonfire Traps now activate consistently based on Zskarn’s location.
  • Elimination Protocol damage reduced by 20%.
  • Elimination Protocol damage amplification reduced to 300% (was 500%).
  • Salvage Parts duration increased to 120 seconds (was 60 seconds).

This doesn’t apply to regular drops, only the legendary, and you aren’t missing out by doing lower difficulties first.

If a character defeats the encounter on Heroic first, then they will have a low chance to get the item and they are covered for the week. Normal and LFR will not offer chances of receiving the item that week.

If a character defeats the encounter on Normal first, they will have a very low chance to get the item. Then for the rest of that week, Heroic will still offer a very low chance at receiving the item, but LFR will not.

Your chances are the same with these three options in a given week:

  • Doing just Heroic
  • Doing Normal then Heroic
  • Doing LFR, then Normal, then Heroic

With today’s new build of the Fractures in Time PTR, we’ve made the following updates.

  • Holy
    • New Talent: Merciful Auras – Your auras restore health to 3 injured allies within 20 yards every 2 seconds. While Aura Mastery is active, heals all allies within 40 yards and healing is increased by 100%.
    • Awestruck increases the critical healing of Holy Shock, Holy Light, and Flash of Light by 20% (was 15%).
    • Seal of the Crusader healing increased by 30%.
    • Daybreak now triggers Glimmer of Light’s healing at 200% value (was 150%).
    • Holy Shock now costs 2.4% of base mana (was 2.6%).
    • Flash of Light’s healing is increased by 35% (was 25%).
    • Holy Light’s healing increased by 25% (was 15%).
    • Blessings of Seasons now shares a choice node with Merciful Auras.
    • Tyr’s Deliverance’s base duration has been increased to 20 seconds (was 10 seconds).

After several rounds of updates to the Fire and Frost talent trees, each tree has seen a significant boost in power, which in turn has put their overall throughput quite a bit higher than their live counterparts. While some gain in power is to be expected due to these changes, their current tuning has them quite a bit higher than we intend. Due to this, in the latest build we’re reducing the damage of many of their spells to get us a better baseline to work from for the two specs. This should make it easier for us to continue to iterate on tuning based on internal and external testing as the Fractures in Time PTR continues to develop.

The intent with these tuning changes is not to disrupt the current flow, playstyles, or talent builds that have arisen with the updates but rather keep the relative balance and breakdown of abilities similar as the are now but with just a bit less output.

Here are the notes for this week’s update to the Fractures in Time PTR:

CLASSES

  • EVOKER
    • Augmentation
      • Mastery: Timewalker grants Shifting Sands to 1 ally (was 2).
      • Prescience duration reduced to 18 seconds (was 20 seconds).
      • Black Attunement health bonus reduced to 4% (was 5%).
      • Aspect’s Favor increases Black Attunement to 10/16% (was 12.5/20%).
      • Ebon Might now increases all of the casting Evoker’s damage by 10%, instead of increasing Eruption’s damage by 20%.
      • Born in Flame has been redesigned – Casting Ebon Might grants Burnout immediately and every 3 seconds for 6 seconds, reducing the cast time of Living Flame by 100% (was Ebon Might caused Living Flame to be instant cast for its duration).
    • Preservation
      • All healing abilities increased by 2%.

Quick update on some discussions we’ve seen -

Defeating Scalecommander Sarkareth on the highest difficulty will cover your best chance for getting the Cracked Titan Gem that week. Doing the encounter extra times on lower difficulties won’t increase your chances of getting the item.

Joust with the best of them for new rewards, face Onyxia once more and prove yourself a champion when you face all new trials.

Embrace the challenge of Titan Rune Dungeons, where you’ll take on a new higher-level difficulty in which creatures and bosses have a variety of dangerous new effects as well as additional health and damage. The Hall of Fame for Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible has now been filled with the first 200 guilds to defeat Mythic Scalecommander Sarkareth. Congratulations to all players who earned a spot in the annals of raiding history this season!

There’s still a few more days left for those who are close to defeating Mythic Scalecommander Sarkareth to earn the coveted Hall of Fame: Scalecommander Sarkareth feat of strength achievement and title, but only the top 200 guilds will be listed in the official rankings. The Hall of Fame will close and Mythic cross-realm raiding in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible will begin with next week’s weekly maintenance.
