If someone wanted to buy the ship outright, it would be expensive to do so. Dockyards provide more than just the end ship as there are lot of different rewards and sometimes other ships provided as well, such as the Huron in the coming Dockyard.

As others noted above, you are only required to pay for 6 Phases if you want the Puerto Rico. This is the same format as all our recent Dockyards. If that doesn't interest you, please feel free to play out the event and get whatever stuff is available in the first 34 phases (or however far you would like to complete).

Your understanding that the player will need to spend Doubloons to complete at least 6 stages to finish the 11.7 Dockyard before getting the Compensation Token... is correct.

-

There are 40 Stages. Only 34 can be completed for free via in-game grinding. 6 MUST be purchased via Doubloons if a player wants to receive the Puerto Rico from the Dockyard Event that starts in 0.11.7.

If the player already has a Puerto Rico in their port at the time of finishing the Dockyard Event that starts in 0.11.7, then they will receive "Compensation" in the form of a Token which can be redeemed for a Resource of their Choice.

-

Process:

Player already has Puerto Rico prior to the start of the Dockyard Event in 0.11.7.

Player finishes the Dockyard through purchasing at least 6 Phases via Doubloons.

Other Phases can be Purchased via Doubloons or ground via in-game ...

No.

Because you don't get Compensation until you Receive a ship you already own.

The Puerto Rico from the 0.11.7 Dockyard will not be Received by a player until that player Finishes the phases of the Dockyard.

Compensation is awarded on receipt of a ship that is already owned. You only receive the Puerto Rico when the Dockyard is finished via completeing all the phases.

You would get the Compensation Token upon getting the Puerto Rico (if you already have her in your port).

The Dockyard does need some of the phases to be purchased to finish and get the Puerto Rico, so there is an amount of Doubloons that would be required, yes.

I've only been in the WoWs community for a little over 3 years, but I haven't known of any single ship which has released to a massive fanfare like that. The San Diego certainly had an amount of hype around her, but her release has been part of an event and bolstered by a cool commander with a unique voiceover. That stands out, surely, but it's not on the level of a mutli-platform effort with donations and charities lined up.

The Huron is being made available for free, which I believe is really cool. Further, there's going to be a community designed camo made available for her as well in the future.

I believe so, yes. However, we've never made a requirement on what we can offer via our Dockyard events.

The why is that Huron was slated for a 2022 release. Originally 2023 due to the time it takes to create a ship, but we were able to fast-track her development.

Huron is already in testing and will be available in time for our Dockyard to provide her a free-to-attain method.

Many of our events will have Premium ships which can be earned through in-game activities. Dockyards have had free-to-attain and Huron will be the one for this dockyard.

She may not be a US ship, but we are neighbors on this grand ol' continent.

I don't think you'll want to count her out.

Using the Merged Calculator in DevBlog 327: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QdYhvYMu6gsUSMS7Hag3Gwpnwn7LD2XvJeiqFeIG1y4/edit?usp=sharing

1 Stars and Stripes Camo:

You can see in the above the second group of "200% 200% 200%", that means each camo converts into 200% for each resource type.

We see that mid-point displayed here with 1 x 200% for Ship XP, Commander XP, and Free XP:

Now we view the end-total which takes the mid-values and adds/rounds them into final values:

You'll note that there is 1 of every type of bonus as a minimum. Every player will receive at least 1 of each type of Bonus in the Conversion.

The three Bonuses the Stars and Stripes camo converted into are:

I've had some good experiences so far with that German BB line!

Planes have a base detection of 10km, so it's very likely you have some teammate somewhere that can spot them for you. When you are isolated and smoke up, they can go unspotted/unheard.

Can I ask what kinds of stuff you find cringeworthy?
Not trying to trap you or anything - I'm genuinely curious

Yep! We'll have a lot of details on the PR event so you can decide early how you'd like to approach it.
