While playing the stronghold i tend to get some frame rate drops. This happens at the part where you're fending off the infinte waves of spiders.

Also, when i complete an expedition instead of going back to Ft. Tarsism it boots me to the title screen.

Most people are thinking your demo build is the actual version you'll be releasing. Think you can go on the other megathread and shed some light on the difference between this build and the launch one?

Hey TrendK! Appreciate the heads up and the report. I’ve mentioned it before but I’m not sure I can give more exposure than Ben, Darrah, or Gamble have covered in terms of the differences between demo and release (https://twitter.com/biomarkdarrah/status/1086663802043559936?s=21).

Really it’s just reiterating that we’ve had 6-8 weeks of bug fixing, performance optimization, and other quality of life improvements since then. There will of course still be things we need to fix after launch, but holistically it will be different and improved.

I reported this issue last weekend as well, but I am still having major issues with dark areas of the game being way too dark. I have my computer monitor calibrated at a 6500K White point, 160 cd/m2 Luminance, 2.20 Gamma and a balanced contrast radio.

A good example of the issue I'm having is at the beginning of the Tyrant Mine. When flying through the cave everything goes completely black to the point that I can't see anything. About 90% of the time I just end up slamming into walls and have to feel my way out. This also holds true during the portions of the mission where I have to swim. Once I hit the water I basically can't see anything.

Additionally, I have tried multiple different calibrations on my monitor to try and counteract this, and I've tried adjusting brightness in game (including turning it all the way to the max), but nothing helps. This is also the only game I have this issue with.

Hey corrupt, thanks for the report and the details. I’m largely not familiar with our video/graphics settings but you may want to try adjusting some of those as well outside of just the brightness. I also had some change in colors/brightness when I swapped between full screen or windowed mode. Otherwise hit UI the forums to see if they can offer more troubleshooting tips.

Many enemies have attacks that stagger/stun you. The problem is you can't evade (or even really move) while being stunned, so if another attack comes in that stuns you, you have no way to deal with it and it's just a vicious, prolonged cycle of not having any control while being pummeled.

This is especially apparent during the 2nd mission of the demo, fighting the walker tank (Escari? I think it's called) it shoots a barrage of missiles that just root you in place. The missiles can be dodged and if you watch the enemy you can expect them, which makes it okay that the attack is very punishing...but having a complete lack of control and counterplay is a very unfun way to be punished.

So is it the specific scenario of creature attacks while flying? Most of that was definitely an intentional design decision. Our creatures don’t want you in the air, that’s where you have the advantage. Frost wolves will freeze you down, Heavy Scars will Fire you down, snipers, elementalists, etc.

The only stun locking I experienced was the Luminary and the Tyrant Queen which have telegraphs before these lockouts to give you a window to evade. We can always tweak/tune these if they are too punishing but so far this is the only feedback I’ve heard.

This also should be far and away the exception and not the rule to your general flight experience.

I'm on the forum too so I create my own topic. Can you help me getting in touch with someone that can help me now ?

Hey Khiell no I’m sorry that is all managed by the Customer Experience team. I just try to help do air traffic control where I can and point folks to where they can get help, or answer what I can if I know it myself.

I heard we are getting gender specific options for Storm and Interceptor, is this true?

Nope, the Javelins are as-is.

In all seriousness, since you're the audio director and I have your attention and that is pretty cool for me as an audio guy and avid gamer, I've got some comments. I'm gonna be blunt, don't mean to be rude, and I do respect the work you've put into this game. That said, FWIW from a rando on reddit:

  • I think there's some music in the game? Kinda bland. The title screen has a pretty cool motif that isn't being abused, far as I can tell. Have the music guy abuse it. Works for John Williams. And a certain other game in this genre. Maybe too late for release, but moving forward with new content.

  • Okay, I was referring to Destiny in the previous bullet point. That game represents the gold standard for sound design and mixing in this genre, as far as I'm concerned. I'm gonna use it as an example moving forward, and if there's any a/b-ing to be done, it's in your studio between Anthem and Destiny. Or in my apartment, if you decide to take me up on my offer. ...

Wow, what a great round of feedback.

Honestly, you're right on most points. Let me try to address each one, with a giant caveat that the build you're playing is old, and yes, I know you've heard that before, but the amount of work the audio team does on any project in the final months is pretty much required to consider this build as competitive to an existing title.

For the music, we have done a lot of work not only on the implementation but also the mix. It was not really cutting through in the demo build. I think this point has been addressed. And we abuse the crap out of a few motifs, you'll see later :)

I fully agree about character, and your further point about these being the 'stock' weapons so we need to leave room for more unique weapons is true. We have saved some of the more badass treatments for the hard to get weapons, they need to feel better. There is also a big difference in the design of the game though, and we need to make...

This is just one source of Coin, and no, there is no hard Coin cap for the week.

Thanks! Also, do we need to have an active EA account linked to Xbox in order to play the game?

My brother, for example, cannot play the open demo because his linked EA account is locked, and when he launches the demo he gets an error message "to protect your information your account is temporary locked" on the Anthem waiting screen.

Just wondering if he won't be able to play the real game either because of this. EA support couldn't help him.

You will need an active account linked, yes, but I would encourage you to try again with customer support! They are very helpful and should be able to get him going.

SO. GOOD.
