I have tried just about everything other than launching as administer because I can't. Meaning if I go to the properties of the game the tab for compatibility isn't there for me to launch it as an admin. I've reinstalled it four or five times now, nothing. It's almost like something is just missing. When I try to launch it there isn't a splash screen either just nothing happens.

Hey @re4579

Can you try turning down your UAC Controls or running Origin and Apex as an admin?

If the issue continues can you share a DxDiag?

@re4579 Can you verify under the nvidia control panel that Apex is trying to launch with your 1650 versus the intel graphics? Illium.png

Hey @re4579

Thanks for the update, we have made some recent changes wanted to see if this is still occurring?

If so to confirm have you tried running in a Clean Boot?

@re4579 I can share that this happened with the team, but we don't have any information or visibility to Surfshark. Glad to hear we were able to get past this though. Illium.png

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless. THEN go here:
support.microsoft.com

Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads

This article lists the download links for the latest versions of Visual C++ Redistributable packages. support.microsoft.com And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

IF that doesn't help, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

Also if you have installed RivaTuner, RadeonPro, or a gaming VPN app called Evolve, or the MSI Gaming App, or Duet, disable it as it clashes with this game.

IF that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Hello there @WetNoodle994 , thank you for contacting us about this error message.

It appears there may be some compatibility issues with the Easy Anti-Cheat and your system if you see this exact message.

The issue may be caused based on the following factors >

• Is your current Anti-virus compatible?
• Is your Windows OS currently supported with the software and is it updated?
• You may need to verify your games files for any corrupt installation files, this can happen if an update was interrupted
• Please use Task Manager to close down any programs you may have running in the background other than the game
• If using game capture software, please make sure it is compatible with the Anti Cheat software

Please visit the Easy Anti-Cheat support website here, for some troubleshooting steps which will usually resolve this error message > https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/

Hiya @zerotwo997, sorry to hear! You are running For Honor on PC, correct? If so, and you are constantly crashing after the warning screen, I would try verifying your game files first to see if this may help remedy the problem. Another suggestion is to make sure that For Honor and your Ubisoft Connect client is running Administrator Rights. Lastly, I would check if your graphics card drivers are up-to-date and no background applications are running with For Honor that might be causing this problem. If you have exhausted all steps shared here and gone through additional PC Troubleshooting Steps with the same results, please create a support ticket with your  MSINFO & DxDIAG attached. This will allow us to take a more in-depth look into what might be causing this issue for you. Thank you!

Hi @SuppleGh0st I'm sorry to hear that the game is not launching.

Could you take a look at the PC troubleshooting article and run through any of the steps you may not have tried then try again. The support article contains some of the most common fixes for crashes, freezing, FPS drops and more.

Please confirm if this resolves the issue.

As Modded realm works, this indicates that the issue is Easy Anti-Cheat related.

We’ve recently (within the past few hours) released an update to EAC, so it’s worth checking to see if the issue still occurrs now.

If it does, please try the following -

  • Ensure you have appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions in place for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat

  • Remove the Easy Anti-Cheat Certificates & Install/Repair Easy Anti-Cheat:

    1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\EasyAntiCheat
    2. Delete the ‘Certificates’ directory
    3. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat
    4. Run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup installer and proceed as instructed
    5. Then use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option: https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360021233534
  • Perform a ‘Selective Startup’, which can also help diagnose whether a background application is resulting in your issue. This can be performed by:

    1. Press the Windows key
    2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
    3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
    4. Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
    5. Reboot your PC
    6. Launch Vermintide 2 or Darktide as normal

If the error no longer persists after having performed the Selective Startup, you will need to re-enable each of your usual background applications one-by-one until the error reoccurs, to determine which is interfering with Easy Anti-Cheat

Hi @Smite,

Sorry to hear that! You say that the game is crashing upon pressing play?

If possible, can you please provide either a crash report or your console log and launcher log so we can take a look?

Thanks!

about 2 years ago - FatsharkLev - Direct link

@Smite, thanks for that! The logs indicate something may be conflicting with Easy Anti-Cheat, and based on the error code this is usually Anti-Virus/Firewall related. Please ensure you have appropriate exceptions in place for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat. If the issue persists, can you try disabling your Anti-Virus and see if this works?

about 2 years ago - FatsharkLev - Direct link

Glad to hear that  minus the file corruption part!

If verifying your files doesn’t work, and you have what we call persistent data corruption, you can find other solutions to this here:

Let me know how you get on!

about 2 years ago - FatsharkLev - Direct link

Ahh, in this scenario, I suggest to try the following again -

  • Remove the Easy Anti-Cheat Certificates & Install/Repair Easy Anti-Cheat:
    1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\EasyAntiCheat
    2. Delete the ‘Certificates’ directory
    3. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat
    4. Run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup installer and proceed as instructed
    5. Then use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option: https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360021233534

If this doesn’t work, then next please try a clean re-installation of Vermintide 2.

Apologies for the inconvenience of all of this!

Not to worry, the Certificates restoring is expected at the end of the steps. Let me know how it goes!

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you are encountering this issue when trying to launch the game. This message would usually happen if you do not have Ubisoft Connect launched or are logged into the incorrect Ubisoft account. Would it be possible to double check you are using your linked account?

Any trouble, just let us know
