Not true. I've worked on AAA marketing campaigns for nearly a decade across multiple franchises and not once has "intentionally" leaking something ever been part of the strategy. I've had to deal with dozens of leaks over the years and it's never been intended and always frustrating. Maybe other marketing organizations have done this in the past but it's not the case here.
A ton of planning goes into how this stuff is rolled out and leaks can actually be pretty damaging and we always try to AVOID them. Happy to see everyone enjoying the trailers and pumped for the stuff we're bringing for Season 2 but, I've seen this narrative around a bit and wanted to just put it to bed.
Is it possible to blacklist servers so that you do not get matched with them?
I am in Western Australia and my ping is never below about 75 and packet loss is always about 25% or more. Since the recent pc patch I have been finding myself in a server from Singapore or Hong Kong. Unfortunately every other match with players in these servers contains someone blatantly hacking.
I try and select the Australian servers when I remember too but I still find myself being placed in these games, so I have to quit and wait for the option to change server again.. kinda frustrating.
I would rather wait and play in a local server or not play at all over playing in servers constantly flooded with cheaters and hackers.
Care to share an image of your datacenters list, the next time, before you switch it off what it selects by default?
Why does it search for a match in EU if the intended server and client are both in the US? Strictly curious
It does not search for an EU match, for anyone but those searching for EU. While searching for a match [or creating a party, selecting skins, etc], you can be on an EU or US dedi.
You will find yourself in US or EU when searching for a match; your preferred datacenter is used only for matches.

Well ive (and my friend as well) been playing in Brazil servers, or anywhere in south america for quite some time. Not sure why Apex puts me there. I live 10ms from the Amsterdam server.
Took me a while to figure out whyi was dying so quickly. At some point in time i started asking where tmy team mates were from, and yeah, they were basically on the other side of the globe. Anyway, selecting the server manually now every time i boot, hope this gets fixed in future.
If you are selecting one that's different from the one the game is picking, could you send me a screenshot of your datacenter list before you pick the new one - assuming it's showing the 'wrong' selection there?

Why are people constantly just getting put onto servers across the world then? I’ve been placed on Chinese servers twice this week
We run our lobby servers in Europe and Asia, because there are no latency sensitive actions taking place in the lobby so it doesn't really matter where we run them. So if you're just looking at lists of IPs you've connected to, that isn't going to mean much. Your matches and training will be servers that are near you.

This is a bit weird. So are we supposed to select the best datacenter? Shouldn't be selected by default? Is this just a temporary workaround while things get fixed properly?
I also saw some comments saying that selecting the datacenter doesn't do much because when enter/finish a match it just changes automatically. Is this information false then?
The "best" datacenter should already be selected. Generally that will be the one with the lowest ping, but packet loss factors in as well. AFAIK once you're in the lobby and playing matches, we don't transfer you between datacenters.

Hi. I'm on PS4 and i haven't been able to connect to the servers all day. And I have checked everything my internet and router, my login, and EA websites. nothing on my end i am sure of. It's says. Unable to connect to EA servers. Could it be some servers are down? Or being repaired/updated? I'm from Denmark if that info helps. Thanks before hand, love playing your game and would love to play again. :)
Sorry you're having the issue. There's nothing on our end that's showing any outage or updates so it could be related to something else outside of our control. I recommend reaching out to EA Help as well. Hope you can get back online soon and appreciate the kind words.
