@PepperJC @JoseSanchezLIVE Agreed, I don't necessarily agree with that approach but at this point, they have the ability to prevent/detect a hack quicker than we do because their whole business is dedicated to this.
@JoseSanchezLIVE Quite honestly, I can't answer that. As a gamer myself, I would be silly and non-genuine if I said I didn't understand why you stopped playing.
@JoseSanchezLIVE @PepperJC I'm not sure tbh, I just know "we" haven't reached that point yet. In the sense that they would much rather fix and put in some good prevention then wipe with no fixes and do it all over. Merging it all into Legacy 2.0 is something to reconsider depending on how it shakes out.
@Xbox_InMy_Veins @JoseSanchezLIVE That may be next ;) or something similar. Can't really talk about the how when it comes to mesh detection but there will be some advancements coming on that.
@JoseSanchezLIVE Legacy 2.0 was discussed a little while back but at this point, most people are focused on prevention, detection, and actual fixes. Then we'll circle around to what the future looks like.
@JoseSanchezLIVE So sometimes someone might think - why are they just sitting back. Sometimes it may be because we don't know, sometimes it's because other people are looking and are in contact with us. It's just more than what meets the eye.
@JoseSanchezLIVE I know the lack of outward action looks like the lack of inward action. People are looking now. Some exploits require BattleEye to take a look. And usually, they'd prefer it to still be used so they can develop detection to prevent and ban for it.
@xFlawwless_ @Xbox_InMy_Veins @JoseSanchezLIVE If this were something to happen it would likely be a subset of servers that would have a seasonal approach and some servers that are like traditional servers. I dont see ALL Ark servers being converted to something like this
@Xbox_InMy_Veins @JoseSanchezLIVE Its been discussed and still up in the air (at least some concept of it)
@TREEGRASS186381 I would tell you that if I knew it to be true. It's really hard to make statements like that when you don't know what XBOX servers will look like in 1 or 2 years. Right now this may be the case but who's to say that won't change. I try not to use words like never
@JoseSanchezLIVE After it's solved, maybe.
@JoseSanchezLIVE Wiping isn't going to help us understand the problem better to fix it though. It's short term relief that will cycle and re-occur in 6 months or less until everyone is asking about a wipe because of duping. The wipe solution isn't a good one either. Not for solving this problem.
@seantoolitt @survivetheark "Hoping to provide an ETA next week"
Context: Last week, I said we were "hoping" to have an ETA this week. This week I said things are looking hopeful based on a fix that the team feels confident in.
The trouble with trying to give information in a game dev role when you don't have concrete info. Development time is hard to pinpoint. So a lot of time companies tend to say nothing to avoid the backlash.
@swagmuffinruben @survivetheark I guess you'll just have to wait and see huh? ;)
@NotDollie That, it is.
@seantoolitt @survivetheark Actually, I said last week that I was "hoping" to have an ETA. I am now saying that the team is feeling confident in a fix. We didn't even have a fix last week.
I just heard some good news about transfers. Things are looking good for next week. As always, official timing and statements will come from @survivetheark
@DavidCShaw1 @Ark4life3 @Alex62377244 Character transfers are open.]
