In Ashes of Creation, we will have combat pets. These aren't tied to a specific class or archetype. All players will have the option to acquire pets that can participate in combat.

As for "taming wild animals," this is part of the Hunting gathering profession. To learn more about what we've shared on this, check out the wiki here.

Pets, Mounts, Livestock, and Beasts of burden can be captured and tamed. To breed the best version of each species, you'll want to find a player with Animal Husbandry. You can learn more about ...

As an FYI, Ashes of Creation will have highly scalable options for users to adjust rendering and particle effects.

While we know one of the concerns in this video is "will all players know to go to their options to turn down spell effects," we hope that as long as the starting value isn't turned to maximum, this won't be a problem for most players. We believe that having the options to turn things like this up, down, or off will be something that helps more players enjoy the game in the way that they want to.

We spoke briefly about our stance on scaling things like this up, down, and off in the ...

"Who can tank" really depends on the setting. For high end raids and dungeons, the best Tanks will be players with Tank as their primary archetype.

We spoke about this briefly, during the last Development Update Livestream. Timestamp to this discussion.

So when combat is criticized as bland, I personally feel it is because of the choices that were made when determining the interactions between PC and NPC. Not polish.

What part of the combat do you believe is "bland"?

Good question!

If you feel that combat is, in your opinion, "bland" - feel free to express that on the forums, as long as you do it in a constructive and helpful manner, so that we can understand why you feel the way you feel :)

Glorious Ashes community - it's time for another Dev Discussion! Dev Discussion topics are kind of like a "reverse Q&A" - rather than you asking us questions about Ashes of Creation, we want to ask YOU what your thoughts are.

Our design team has compiled a list of burning questions we'd love to get your feedback on regarding gameplay, your past MMO experiences, and more. Join in on the Dev Discussion and share what makes gaming special to you!

Training is when players pull enemy NPCs onto other players in hopes that it will kill them. Some players see this as a valid and fun combat tactic to play around, and some do not. Would you like to see mechanics that support or discourage training in Ashes of Creation?

There's so much potential when it comes to designing bosses around our group sizes, 8 different archetypes, 64 different classes, and the fact that many encounters will be a part of open-world dungeons.

Love to see creative ideas for how boss fights could interact with the different facets of these systems :)
