*She :) and yes, I'd say it's hard to be sure without seeing the actual work whether there will be copyright issues or not.

This is our end-user licence agreement[github.com] which tells you what you can do with the game's code; that should be a good starting point to figure what's generally allowed and what is not. Outside the EULA, the rule of thumb is that as long as what you're doing is not 1.) making money off someone else's work or 2.) piracy, or promoting piracy, which again rips off someone else's work, you're probably fine. You should also note that the Barotrauma name and logo are copyrighted (see our store page, right under "system requirements", for legal lines).

For more details, it would be easiest to email us at ... Read more

Hey Flaming Pike, I'm familiar with how welding tools work, friends and I have been playing for about 10 hours. Specific welding tools simply do not work, while others do when I equip them. And yes, they have welding fuel tanks attached to th...

The console only opens up if there's errors, are you using some mods which hasn't yet been updated for the latest update? Some mods also conflict with each others which can lead to errors too.

It could also be a issue with the game itself or your installation of the game, so seeing what the error message is would also help.

You can copy the console error (red text) by right clicking it.

Thanks for this :'D

And sorry about this oversight (for that's what it is). I just wanted to let you know this thread was shared with the rest of our team and I am sure we will discuss how to make the radiation do what it's meant to do.

Kastrull is in fact Swedish and means a cooking pot (or it may be some other things too but this is what we intended). It is pronounced like this: https://forvo.com/word/kastrull/

As it appears in the game though, in the meaning of a submarine found on a multinational moon of the future, I think you have licence to pronounce it as you like ;)

The host of the server has the line of sight setting disabled on their settings, so anyone who joins the server will have the same setting applied to them as the host. So you can't have one player without LOS and one with for example.

You might want to lower the "minimum players to respawn" setting, by default its set to 20%, the setting means that at least 20% of overall players has to be waiting for respawn for the respawning to start. Also make sure "Allow respawning" is toggled.

Both of these settings can be found in the server settings > gameplay

Hi! I believe this is the same thing I just responded to here https://steamcommunity.com/app/602960/discussions/1/3130541122082036828/#c3130541122084108349 – in short, it's not a bug, but a fix. However, we ... Read more

Yeah I just tested the brighter lights mod and that definitely broke the diving suit, didn't test the other ones on the list as that one seemed obvious

Originally posted by BirdOfPray: With only diving suit, around 2600 meters deep, I instantly get barotrauma warning and start seeing bleeding animation with blurry screen (I tried with a modded sub Explorer on my campaign with a diving suit that came with it and I bought a new one from the outpost to try it out. Both had the same effect). (Sub can resist up to 4k meters)

I managed to craft Abyss and Combat Diving Suit which both works without a problem. We were used to be okay with only diving suit in these depths so I was confused.
You don't have any other mods either? Or did you previously have a mod that affected diving suits in the same save? As I'm totally fine with the default diving suits even below 2700 meters ...

I wasn't able to reproduce this no matter what I tried, tested by going to below 2000 meters with a totally new save and with a save from a earlier version of the game and no issues. You could test to see what happens if you spawn in a totally new diving suit or using a different save with a vanilla sub.

Are you using mods by any chance? Especially the "Transparent diving suit helmet" mod seems to cause this.

It should start to pick up quite rapidly after Europan Ridge

We actually have a issue with the current patch where it spawns too many creatures that it ends up causing framerate issues, so in what difficulty are you playing at? Start of the campaign?

Are you using some type of mod which changes the diving suits, like the transparent diving suit helmet one? Also did this happen at the very start of the campaign with a totally new save?

It happens in sub testing mode when I use the "ragdoll" command on a bot, that would point me towards believing that it is not desync related.
Thanks for the extra info, this will help with figuring out what is exactly going on

Hey-hey, let's not call anyone names or jump to any conclusions :)

To answer OP's question: no, sadly, this is not an option. I am not even entirely sure whether that's a developer/publisher/platform question, either – so I am also somewhat doubtful regarding our future plans for this sort of deal. Sorry that I can't be of more help! For what it's worth, I would like to second what Shiro says: You do not necessarily need to enter this game with friends, as we have friendly people around. If you're interested in taking a closer look at that playerbase to inform your decision, please feel free to stop by our official Discord: discord.gg/undertow

Both wikis are made by fans, and both were to a degree facilitated by us; the new one on barotraumagame.com is also owned by us, so it gets less ads and sadly also less search engine love. But we try :)

We're currently working on ways of improving the experience a new player has when trying to get into the game, but you're right that Barotrauma has a lot of moving parts and we've got out work cut out for us in that department. If you have the time and energy to join in editing the wiki, you are very welcome! In any event, we're hoping to make information more easily findable, in the game and outside it.

Hi! The shrinking of the map is indeed optional, and as we are still firmly in early access, everything in the game is still subject to change – so while it is not being initially released as gradeable and we do not at present have plans for making it so, your feedback, once you get to play the feature in practice, will be very welcome as always!

From our side of things, the apprehension surrounding the topic seems somewhat surprising, even though we knew it was coming... so we urge you to try it and see for yourself, because we don't think it's actually that harsh :) but as it became apparent not everyone was feeling excited about this in any good way, we decided it should be optional from the start. We don't like telling our players exactly how you should play!
