The game always creates the log when you click Start in Steam. Open "Properties" for the game in Steam, go to the tab called "Local Files", then click "Browse Local Files" and go into the Cities_Data folder.

I'm not sure about the land value effect for all zone types, but the wiki does specify the negative effect for industry and offices in the zoning section[skylines.paradoxwikis.com].

It's -0.167 for industry, and -0.25 for offices.

As mentioned in the error, the game makes a folder with some log files. Especially the error.log and the output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) is useful to figure out what's causing it. To find it, go to the game in your Steam Library, open Properties and find Local Files to open the folder where the game is installed. That will hold the folder with the date of the crash.

The guide snowflitzer linked has some suggested sites to upload the logs to, since we can't attach files here on Steam.

Adding to the great suggestions already, I gotta say that Forest Brush is my favorite, since it lets me paint a mix of trees instead of just one. :)

If you share your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux), we can compare the mods and see if there are any errors, which would explain what's happening. This guide explains where to find the log and suggests some places you can upload it to, since we can't attach files on Steam.

Do you have any of these mods: Fine Road Tool (original, not version 2), Fine Road Anarchy (original, not version 2), Advanced Road Anarchy, Road Anarchy, Road Anarchy 2 or Sharp Junction Angles?

Originally posted by mp2: totally uninstalled the game and redownloaded the lot and still it exits without any error you say its an launcher issue wich launcher the games or steam launcher? getting quite iritated by such funky programming . this is clearly a steam issue so fix it and dont send me to the game dev.

I was refering to the game's own launcher, that opens after you press Play in Steam. If you believe it is an issue with Steam, then contacting Steam Support is the way to go. I am not a Steam rep, I'm a community ambassador for Paradox, so unfortunately I am not able to help you with this. :/

Sharing your save would definitely be a way for us to look into things, though since you are playing without mods, I would suggest you post on the official support forums. If this is a bug, that would be the place to post and have it looked into. :)

In addition to Verullus Forgefire's recommendation, I suggest these two collections (part 1 and 2 of the same):

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the launcher! If you haven't already tried them, the steps in this thread fix most issues. And if they don't help at all, it explains how to contact Paradox Support, so they can help solve the issue and log any bugs that need fixing.

Here is the output file: https://ufile.io/dhkxxl8o

Removing TMPE should be fine, plus the mod is up to date as far as I know, so I doubt that's the problem. I still see it in your log though, so looks like you are still subscribed to it.

You don't have any mods that I would expect to affect this, but I am not sure about Ad... Read more

Ah, that would explain it! Thanks for the heads up, I'll add it to the list of broken mods.

If you want a replacement, Fine Road Tool 2 can do the same and is up to date. :)

Originally posted by mp2: i see the game start as the game's icon pops up in the task bar then my security software asks if i want to allow cities skyline .exe to connect to the steam.exe when i say yes the game shuts down so it looks to me steam.exe shuts the game down? Btw i also noticed that when i entered the activation codes i accidently also activated the game again ? I was amazed that steam allowed a game to be activated twice but there wasnt an undo possible? so maybe thats why steam now shuts the game down ?

Sounds like that might be an issue with the launcher, but I'm not sure. I suggest you post on the official support forums as there are more people able to help you there.

Ah, so like when the overlays switch on automatically (when placing pipes for example). I don't remember seeing a mod like that, but it does sound like something that would be handy though.

Oof, that does not look nice. :S Definitely looks like something a broken mod could cause. If you haven't already, I suggest checking your mods against this list of known broken mods:

Hmm, yeah that does sound like they might have Ploppable RICO Settings. You can check that in the Settings Panel for Ploppable RICO in game and remove any settings that aren't supposed to be there.

Hmm, then we'll probably have to take a look at your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) to see all your mods and any errors that might explain what's happening. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some places you can upload it to, since we can't attach files here on Steam.
