The issue with Cultural Traditions missing descriptions is currently being investigated by our development team, and exists in our "known issues list".

You also mentioned that there were events with inaccurate translation, it would be extremely helpful to us if you had any examples you could link so that we can have them checked out by our localization team!

Unfortunately, as always before a launch, we encourage you to wrap up any saved games you might have ongoing, as any major updates will almost certainly create issues with those saved games. If you want to continue any previously made saves, we recommend you to revert to the previous update on steam, and conclude your run before jumping into Royal Court!

Heya FunGaming, I just went into the game and used the "bypass" console command, and I didn't manage to replicate the same error you had.

Could you try disabling all mods, and see if you still have the same issue when using the command?

Heya Rnewsom19, from looking at the error log, it seems like a mod is loaded. Could you double-check your launcher playsets, and make sure that any mods are deactivated before launching again?

Heya sdsoldi! This issue seems to already exist in our database, and is currently being handled by our dev-team.
As this issue will likely be fixed in our next update, if possible, please change the game language to English in order to access the Cultural Traditions description.

Heya nkibilko, and thank you for the report! The Royal Edition does indeed include Royal Court, and you absolutely should not have to buy it again.
In order to further examine your issue, could you try restarting your client, and check the launcher if the DLC has appeared.

If not, please let me know, and return with what client you are using for the game (Steam, Paradox Launcher, Xbox Game Pass)

Unfortunately, as always before a launch, we encourage you to wrap up any Ironman or other saved games you might have in process as any major updates will almost certainly create issues with those saved games. If you want to continue any previously made saves, we recommend you to revert to the previous update on steam, and concluding your iron man run before jumping into Royal Court!

Right click on this game in your Steam Library, manage, browse local files. Open up the binaries folder, the ck3.x64 is in there.

In the terminal session navigate to that folder then do:
./ck3.64

When you run the ck3.x64 executable form the terminal command line, what output do you see?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

That is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

ck3.exe (in the Steam CK3-binaries folder)
dowser.exe (in the Steam CK3-launcher folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2022.1/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

When you revert game versions like that, you should delete the Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/ folder so the older game can write the files and cache the way it needs to. Obviously move valued saves elsewhere first.

That looks like a file system access issue. Are you seeing any other errors in the launcher, whether related to mods or not?

Has this always happened for you or it used to work?

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2022.1

And what antivirus app do you have?

Unsubbing can be done with a single button, in both Steam and our mod site.

But didn't you do that already after my first reply? There's no need to do it again, if so.

Is it all DLCs you have that are affected?

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
OR
- exit the Epic app entirely
- run EpicGamesLauncher.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the Epic client

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

There won't be a fix from the developers for your individual problem unless it turns out to be a game bug. But as the game has not changed since June last year, that seems very unlikely to be the issue here.


That error log shows some issues that should be fixed in 1.4.4 , so let's do a clean reinstall:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
