Well, the game itself has not changed recently, so something else has gone on in your system between the last time the game worked okay and the first time you had this problem. Any idea what that was? New hardware, a Windows update, new antivirus app perhaps?

In that dxdiag you are now getting a lot of errors like this:
Windows Error Reporting:
+++ WER0 +++:
Hata demeti 1884365808686889055, tür 5
Olay Adı: BEX64
Yanıt: Kullanılamıyor
Kabin Kimliği: 0

Sorun imzası:
P1: explorer.exe
P2: 10.0.19041.1415
P3: 2d7da47f
P4: ucrtbase.dll
Which are Windows errors, nothing to do with the game. Would you say you are having other issues in this machine?

See if this Windows repair tool finds anything to fix:

That is certainly the problem, the CPU and GPU should never get over 80c . In Game Settings in our launcher set display mode to fullScreen, Vsync off, and cap the refresh rate to 60. If that doesn't help, this is a hardware problem.

Clean out all air vents it has (compressed air cans are good for this). Make sure airflow to them is not blocked by anything like walls, books or whatever.
If that doesn't drop the temps enough, you probably have a faulty fan or a heatsink/thermal paste problem. You m... Read more

The 1603/1605 errors we see there are typically a previous other installation stuck, or a problem in the Windows update/install processes.

If you see msiexec running in Task manager-processes, kill it and try this launcher install again please.

Otherwise run the Update app in Windows, does it load okay, find anything to apply - whether a patch, update, or whole new Windows 10 version? If so do that and reboot, then try this launcher install again please.

If still no good, do you see Paradox Launcher v2 in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall? If so does it uninstall cleanly, or get an error doing that? You can use this tool to remove it properly:

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Please edit your Documents/paradox interactive/ck3/pdx_settings.txt file. Find the rendered paragraph and change it as follows:
"renderer"={
version=0
value="OpenGL"
}

Then test with a new campaign - do you see the same problem?

Also, please check with Acer for an update to that 2018 Intel video driver, failing that Intel themselves:

That error log shows a problem in the tutorial alright. What happens if you don't do the tute, go into the game proper?

That second screenshot shows the download for the standalone Paradox client, aka launcher v1. That is a separate application for a different purpose, is nothing to do with your problem, so you can ignore that.

launcher-installer-windows.msi is in your Steam-Stellaris folder.

In your quote from my clean install process you have missed the most vital step., which is running steam.exe as the Windows Admin user. Please try that.

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

That dxdiag reports two separate crash issues with ck3.exe , really not sure what could be causing that for you.

If you exit the Steam app entirely then run ck3.exe directly, does it still happen?

When you did your clean reinstall, did you make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again?

Looks like we still have a video problem. But what we did really should not have stopped the game from launching altogether!

That is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

CK3.exe (in the Steam CK3/binaries folder)
dowser.exe (in the Steam CK3/launcher folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2021.10.1/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

IF that doesn't help, also set all those .exe files (EXCEPT ck3.exe !) to run as the Windows Admin user.

That error log looks like we have a problem in the video area, AND possibly a bad game installation. Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

THEN before you run the game, a reinstall and update on the nVidia driver too:

- uninstall that diver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the 2022 one from here:

There's no crash in CK3 recorded in that dxdiag - one each in HOI4 and Stellaris though.

However that error.log looks like either a corrupted installation or mods in use. Assuming no mods, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign - NOT with any existing one

If that doesn't help please attach new log files here,... Read more

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.
  3. Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
  4. Click on Change adapter options.
  5. Right-click all network adapte...

Users with low post counts cannot include links in their posts. this is a foorum anti-spam measure.

But you can attach files here as files, no problem.

After one of these crashes can you restart the game, load the save and carry on okay? Or do you need to reboot, or wait a while, before the game will run again?

And has this always happened since you've had the game? Or it was okay up to some ... Read more

I'm not sure what could cause that to both games at once; neither has changed for quite some time. Was there a Windows or antivirus update perhaps, between the last time they worked and the first time this happened?

What antivirus app do you use?

CK2 is free to play on Steam now, does it have the same problem?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/pdx_settings.txt and settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Is it that you see our launcher, but the games won't start from it? Or you never see our launcher?

What happens if you run hoi4.exe and ck3.exe from File Explorer directly? Any error show?

I am not aware of an MP issue on Macs when playing with Windows users, no.

Does this happen in any new test game you might start, or just in one particular campaign?

Does it matter who is host?

Any mods involved?

If you all use the same in-game language - English preferably - is it any better?

None of your images show up here.

But I'm not clear whether you are referring to a mod you are making or using, or the vanilla game?

I have seen that cause performance problems with our games. Your Windows version did not show that it was out of date though.
