This should now be resolved with our latest hotfix. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Make a backup of both directories (Steam Cloud data + Darktide AppData) as it’s my understanding they work in unison!

There are undeniable improvements we need to make in the realm of reporting, I wholeheartedly agree that you should be able to make reports In-Game, along with other mechanisms to prevent missions being held hostage.

I’ll have to redact the names here, but in the mean time, I recommend submitting a report over in our Support Portal and our moderator Alan will see to it.

Devoted Rejects Here are the patch notes for. Hotfix #36 (1.3.1). It is now live on Steam and will shortly be live on our other platforms.
  • Added a list of default suggested penances to display for players who access Hestia’s corner before they have any progress on other penances.
Dev Note: This is to avoid situations in which we present far-away or more difficult penances because of a player’s started progress.
  • Fixed some penances referring to the wider Chasm Terminus area as “Chasm Station.”.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur if a player redeemed an item reward for individual penance if they accessed “Penances” via character selection".

I didn’t actually know this, but luckily our developers did, and it will be resolved for all!

I recall another player having a very similar issue a while back. I’ve looked up their case, and this is the steps they performed to resolve the issue, which I hope will be useful to you:

  • Delete the cloud save data from files (and recycle bin)
  • Delete my AppData
  • Disabled Steam Cloud data
  • Close and reopen steam
  • Launch darktide and load the character with the issue
  • Then when in the Mourningstar i tabbed out and re enabled steam cloud services
  • I then tabbed back into the game and quit via the menu
  • Closed and reopened steam and launched Darktide

From my experience, this issue normally seems to resolve on its own. Is this still occurring for you today?

We are looking in to these errors as a priority, apologies for the inconvenience.

You could try deleting Darktide’s data in the Steam Cloud directory!

This is on our radar, and another player here is having the same issue. I wondered if this might help?:

NOTE: If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the error to resurface. You can disable Steam Cloud Saving for Darktide via the Steam client by:

  1. Navigate to your Steam library
  2. Right-click Darktide
  3. Select ‘Properties’
  4. On the ‘General’ tab, scroll down to ‘Steam Cloud’
  5. Disable ‘Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’

NOTE: This will reset any custom keybindings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory

You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and...

I have to ask - how much space do you actually have remaining on the SSD?

Sorry about that. I’ve refunded your purchase.

I understand you’ve been able to resolve this with a reinstallation. Please let us know if you have any other problems.
