Sry to say that, but why this information wasnt direclty communicate? Or much better bevor?

We didn't communicate this earlier because we weren't using the method we're using now at all.

Ho w do you get a key to claim on the site to activate. I thought you get the key on the site which isn't working. Maybe I'm stupid but this makes no sense to me.

The site is working, but it's being hit hard. If you're having trouble connecting, I'd suggest waiting a bit before trying again. If you have keys, they're already yours. There's no need to worry about getting in first.

So are people who got duplicate keys going to have to wait until Monday or even later for their issue to be resolved?

Some have keys now. Others will have to wait. We will update on Monday once we know more.

Thanks, any ETA on website? Appreciate you guys been working all day and night

It's up, but struggling. If you can't get in right now, take 15 and then try again.

what happened to the people that got revoked. i have the entire game pre loaded. i thought people that got revoked we going to get there keys first...

That was originally the plan, but when we changed the method we used to distribute keys that was no longer possible, unfortunately.

Neat older backers don't get their keys. I highly doubt 50k players backed a couple of years ago when I backed the game.

Some of our older backers are in game right now, including quite a few Kickstarter and original Indiegogo backers. It was purely random.

Were the keys first come first serve, or were they specifically assigned to accounts?

Randomly assigned to accounts.

Is the site being ddosd or taken down by intention this time @metamoth

It's being slammed by user traffic, but it's still barely limping along.

u/metamoth741 I got a simple question: You said that people with buged/dups/revoked key would defently get one without the "first come, first serve"But now people got they key without they got revoked on steam and people which got revoked dident get there key.Could you explain this to me?

That was the plan on the old system we were using. However, as some folks saw when our site briefly went up earlier, that didn't work at all. So we went with something else that automatically assigned keys to people's accounts. Issue is that we unfortunately could not specifically reassign the bugged keys for folks.

Hi there! Please check out our newest update - approximately half our backers now have their keys, and more will be going out early next week.

Post

As many of you have noticed by now, keys have gone out to a large number of our backers. Our previous solution for getting out keys was not working, so we instead sent out all the keys we have to backers, and assigned them to your accounts - if you now have keys, you should be able to claim them on your account. If not, you will receive a message indicating that we currently do not have any more keys at this time. Around half of our backers now have access to their keys, and we are currently in contact with Valve with a request for the rest of the keys we need to get everybody in-game. Due to a large influx of backers immediately prior to launch the number of keys we need is higher than we'd initially expected, however we're hoping that we will be able to get the majority of the remainder as soon as Monday. We are speaking with contacts at Valve to expedite this process, but at this time we cannot guarantee that things will be totally sorted on Monday. We'll provide an update then ...

Will there be an announcement when QI is back up or do we just check now and again.

We're running out shorter updates on our Twitter, probably the best place to follow for that.

I imagine this will be lost in the flurry of comments.. but do we know how keys are being distributed? random 1st come 1st serve? If thats the case I can check in next round.

Also...if this is seen. I hope the Devs know for every A-hole that's been VERY vocal and angry, plz know that there are people like me, waiting quietly, and patiently for this to get sorted. TY for all the hard work your team has put into this game. Myself, like everyone else here, is SUPER pumped to try it out and help sort the bugs out w/ you all.

First come, first served at this time, unfortunately.

but...
"Not everybody is going to be able to get one currently"
Which one is it? Topped up or not enough keys for people who paid?

"The DDoS is no longer a concern. The site should be up in the next hour or two, and should sustain the load without issue."
but...
"but we are still undergoing intentional attacks and heavy load from legitimate users, which hamper progress significantly. "

A lot of mixed words here. The players just want honesty...

I would, for personal knowledge, love to know how your Cloudflare instance is involved with your key distribution system.

  1. The keys have been topped up, but it's not enough for everybody.

  2. While the DDoS attacks seem to have mostly lifted, the load on our server is still very high and will likely cause some slowdown, but the site should hold up under load now.

  3. While I'm not a web developer, I understand it's an issue with how we implemented Cloudflare and there's a couching issue that was resulting in keys being duplicated across users. Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't give you anything useful, sorry.

Will the dead matter twitter account announce when fixed keys are ready to be claimed?

I do not control our twitter account, so I couldn't really tell you for certain. I believe so, however.

I've gotten some DMs about this, so just going to toss this out there - I like a good haiku, deliberate or not.

When the website is back up will people still be able to buy keys if they haven’t already?

Right now we're focusing on getting keys to those who already purchased them. We'll likely allow people to start backing again once we're past this entire mess.

It may be. I'm afraid I'm not a web dev, so that's a little above my pay grade. All I know is that we pulled the site to fix the Cloudflare stuff we broke.
