Back in September, we launched a pilot for a new program called: “The Fog Whisperers”. This was opened to 10 content creators who have gone above and beyond with their impact on the Dead by Daylight community. It was so well received by the content creators and their communities that we decided we would like to add even more people to the program.

In December, we opened applications for new Fog Whisperers and were blown away by the response. Over 2,500 people applied for the position. After extensive research, time, and effort, we are happy to introduce the new Fog Whisperers! We have selected these content creators because they all bring something special to Dead by Daylight and are very engaged with the DBD community.

People of the Fog,

Decisive Strike is one of Laurie Strode’s unique perks, which was released with Chapter II: HALLOWEEN in October of 2016. We introduced Decisive Strike as a perk option to help give Survivors a second wind, and an opportunity to escape their inevitable demise.

Over the course of the last few years, Decisive Strike has been a point of contention amongst our community, and as a result, the perk has had an interesting journey since its inception.

Decisive Strike has gone through some minor changes to arrive at its current state. Additionally, we have also prototyped entire reworks of the perk, some that we previously spoke of with the community. Ultimately, most of these ideas were shelved as we felt that they did not retain the essence of the perk, nor did they provide an overall improvement to the current version.

Back in December, we announced we were working on a new matchmaking system.

Behaviour® is proud to inform it’s Dead by Daylight fans they have signed a retail distribution agreement with Koch Media to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch™. This partnership includes all territories except China.

This brand-new edition will launch in the fall of 2019 and it will burst with a ton of content, including Killers, Survivors, Maps, Chapters and Cosmetics.

Dear People of The Fog,

We have become aware of the longer queuing times affecting some of our survivor players as more of you are playing as survivors during the event.
To address this, we’ll be making a change to the event points earned by Killers and increasing the amount of Red Envelopes spawning in the Bloodweb.

STEP 1: CHANGES LIVE TODAY (Back-end)

  • Increased Killer event points
  • Points for hooking a Survivor: From 2 to 3
  • Points for destroying a Lunar Vessel: From 3 to 4
  • These points will be live but not be reflected visually in the event menu “Objectives” details until the patch arrives.

STEP 2: LATER THIS WEEK (Hotfix)

  • Increased Red Envelopes spawning in the Level 50 Bloodweb: From 1 to 2

People of the fog,
The Dead by Daylight team is happy to celebrate the Lunar New Year with the Moonrise Event. From January 30th (19:00 UTC) to February 13th (19:00 UTC), this event will give a chance for Killers and Survivors to experience new gameplay, new goals, in-game themed decorations and additional items in the Bloodweb.

Survivor Goal

Gather a Lunar Vessel and escape the map to earn points towards Golden Coins:

Find Vessels in the map to gather. Only one may be held at a time.
Embers then encircle the player to indicate to others that they are holding a Vessel.
If a Survivor holding a Vessel is hooked, they lose their embers. The Vessel they picked up is returned to its original location.

Repairing a generator will also generate points towards Golden Coins.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause survivors to be unable to trigger interaction or cause the character to be teleported back to the basement after spending some time inside the basement.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some Survivors to be standing at the campfire.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Prove Thyself not to affect the perk owner.
  • Fixed the incorrect values displayed in all tiers of the Self-Care description, in all supported languages.
  • Fixed an issue that made it impossible to rush vault a specific window in Badham Preschool.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Game Over score event to not work properly for The Pig.

ATTENTION

The 2.4.0 update is now live on PC.
The Darkness Among Us chapter is available on the Steam Store.
The Characters are available in the Dead by Daylight store.

Known issue

Content already unlocked might disappear from the player's inventory after purchasing the Darkness Among Us Content with Auric Cells or Iridescent Shards. The work around is to restart your application.

Unreal Engine update

The updated engine has added support for many new features (especially in Audio & Rendering), but also caused some incompatibility with existing features the game relied on. As such, we have re-balanced a few very important components of the game (lighting, fog, sound & occlusion)

  • Content - Added a new option for player reporting in the Tally (Exploit).
  • Feature - Added a direct link to the Customer Support Help Desk in the Help & Tutorial page, as well as on the tally screen. Help Desk can be used to open a ticket with the Customer Support team. This is the place to go if you want to report an issue you have encountered in-game.
  • Feature - Added a new score event: Safe Hook Rescue. The scoring event triggers after a Survivor has been unhooked and not downed for 10 seconds. The Survivor that performed the hook rescue gains the points. This score event helps clarify if / when a safe hook rescue has occurred (for the purposes of Emblem: Benevolent, and new perk, Deliverance).
  • Feature - Added a new status effect for Survivors: Broken. Survivors afflicted with the Broken status effect may not be healed past the injured health state for the duration (similar to the No Mither effect). This status is shown ...
