Making Drifter proud, one ding-ding-ding at a time.
One thing that I personally love about the Destiny-verse is that it isn’t just one thing. There is PvP, PvE, and PvPvE for Guardians to enjoy (or in my case, die horribly in – Iron Banana, I just can’t quit you), but one particular player has carved a name out for herself for being the Queen of Gambit, and it’s pretty easy to see why. When I say she is a legend, I mean it, so let’s dive right into the shenanigans with our latest Community Focus feature: Silver, the Gambit Queen.
First up, what's up!? You've got a pretty stellar reputation in the community by living up to the Queen of Gambit title. Tell us a little bit about yourself and the start of your gaming journey?
Hey! My name is Silver and I have actually been gaming since Destiny 1. I was not one of the lucky folks that have had the privilege of gaming their whole life, so I came into gaming primarily through Destin...

This week at Bungie, there's quite a bit to do in Destiny 2.
Hello, and welcome once again to our weekly installment of Bungie news. I’m going to be up front with you, I’ve been spending quite a lot of this week diving deeper and deeper into The Witch Queen and Season of the Risen. Between the Vow of Disciple raid, PsiOps Battlegrounds, weekly repeatable story missions, Throne World secrets, Master Vox Obscura, Wellspring, Iron Banner, Altars of Reflection, and our rituals... it’s difficult to think of how to even kick this TWAB off. Let’s stick to what rolled out on Tuesday at the weekly reset and go from there, shall we?

Over the last few weeks, the Vanguard has entertained a shaky alliance with Caiatl and the Cabal. A trusted Psion has been exploring the minds of Hive Lieutenants in the Tower, searching for clues on what the Lucent Brood... Read more

This week at Bungie, we are celebrating World First, talking raid stats, and showing off a new weapon rotation for Trials and Iron Banner.
Guardians have been diving into The Witch Queen and Season of the Risen and discovering a wealth of new story content and lore to dig into that makes us cry. Despite some server issues and a few hiccups in-game, the latest step of the ever-evolving story of Destiny has been a wild one, but we are far from done when it comes to making it even better. From the Seasonal quest continuing towards its own conclusion to a new hotfix going live today full of bug fixes, there are a lot of reasons to dive in. Because of that, we wanted to talk about some of the different weapons coming to Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner, returning maps making their way downtown (er, to the Crucible), and talk about what issues have been addressed (link to patch notes) and what’s still on the docket.
But first? Art.

Bungie stands with the people of Ukraine and everyone impacted by the ongoing war.
At the time of this article being published, it is reported that over two million Ukrainians are displaced by an ongoing invasion, with no end in sight. Family, friends, homes and communities are being lost.
Through our Bungie Foundation, we are able to use philanthropic means to express our beliefs and values through the lens of humanitarian support. Last week, the Bungie Foundation committed to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the first 48 hours of their Game2Give charity initiative directly to humanitarian aid organizations in an effort to help the people impacted by this war. Players proved once again that they’re Guardians of the world, raising $120,000, and we cannot thank each and every donor enough for their contribution. Bungie will also continue to match our own employee donations donation to any additional U.S. based 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. These pro... Read more

Making the Destiny community a little bit brighter, one epic cosplay at a time.

In the last cosplay Community Focus, we playfully had a few jabs at non-Titan classes, so it was only fair that the next amazingly talented human being to be featured would showcase the beauty that are Hunters (Hippy says grudgingly).
Lilian, or Lily Bean Cosplay, is a passionate fan of all things Destiny 2 and Star Wars, and that passion can easily be seen through her craft. OK, OK, you’ve got me – this Titan-main must admit, she makes Hunters look ... Read more

This week at Bungie, it’s all about the Vow of the Disciple World First race.
What a wild week it’s been. It feels like just yesterday we were announcing The Witch Queen, and now we find ourselves on the doorstep of a World First raid race. This is the weekend that many of you have been waiting for, strategically planning your Power gains and grabbing armfuls of snacks from grocery store shelves. In under two days, the race begins. Let’s get you up to speed.

If you’re new to Destiny or have yet to engage in a raid, this is the pinnacle of our endgame content. Players around the world are challenged to compete, decoding devious puzzles while engaging in heavy combat through multiple activity encounters. We’re not just talking a few enemies here and there, but hordes of combatants clawing away at lives and time while players race to the finish line.  We expect no different from Vow of the Disciple with multiple teams at the final boss trad... Happy Community Focus Day, Guardians! We hope you are worm-deep in your adventures in The Witch Queen and we are loving the screenshots and feedback on socials! Today we are back with a new Community Focus (just wait until you see what Dan did this month) that we are so stoked to share with you. So, let’s get to it, ya?
Welcome EpicDan22! Let’s start off with who you are, where you are from, and what got you into gaming and content creation?

EpicDan22: Hello Guardians! My name is Daniel, but most people just call me Dan. I first off want to thank you for this opportunity.  I am a Twitch Partner born and raised in Alabama and originally got into gaming playing games like Super Mario Bros. on NES with my father. Since then, I've grown up with games my entire life, connecting with series like Pokémon (Gold is still my favorite one) and Jet Set Radio Future, to games like Mass Effect and Halo who have all helped shaped the gamer ... This week at Bungie, we’re taking a deep breath and are feeling very thankful to our community.
The Witch Queen is now out and Guardians all around the world are charging into the next chapter of the Destiny universe. For the most part, queues were relatively short-lived, bugs were limited (knock on wood), and good times could be seen from a mile away as we watched reactions from those in the community dive in feet-first into Savathûn’s Throne World for the very first time. From the excitement over the Legendary Mode campaign to exploring the incredible potential of creating one’s own perfected arsenal, there is more to the beginning of this next step into the Destiny-verse than many were anticipating. And that’s not even diving into the post-campaign goodness like even more quests after you’re done crushing Hive Ghosts with your bare hands (a moment of silence, please).

To say that the team is proud would be a massive understatement, ... Read more

  • The Glassway:
      • Fixed a rare issue preventing some players from launching the strike directly from the Europa map.
  • The Disgraced:
      • Fixed an issue where some players would be stuck behind a gate after they joined an in-progress run of the strike.
  • The Scarlet Keep:
    • Fixed an issue where the dialog at the end of the campaign version of Scarlet Keep could be cut off by the end-of-activity timer.
    • Fixed an issue where players could sometimes be teleported to higher floors of the tower before the elevator reached them.
  • Warden of Nothing:
      • The launch node for this strike now appears on the Dreaming City map on the Director.
      • There are new copies of the Warden of Nothing Triumphs in the Legends Triumphs category. Players who previously earned these Triumphs will have ...

Gaming is for all, and one Guardian goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone has a seat at the table when talking about accessibility.

The Destiny community is filled with some incredible people, players that are not afraid to stand firm and be a source of positivity in a world that is in desperate need of the Light. One such person is none other than Steve Saylor. You may know him as Blind Gamer for his work in the gaming industry as an accessibility voice. He is blind, he plays video games, and he kicks a whole lot of butt. More importantly, he is also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, which makes me incredibly excited to introduce you to him with our latest Community Focus.

Let’s get into it.

First up, thank you so much for speaking with us! Your presence in the gaming community is so incredibly positive, so let’s start off by talking a little a... Read more

This week at Bungie, we are but days away from the launch of The Witch Queen.
We’re finally here. The last TWAB before The Witch Queen. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been touching on new systems arriving on February 22, picking through some quality of life changes for the rituals you engage with, and even spending some time with the team in a full-length ViDoc to set the stage for what’s coming. We have a few topics left to cover, but only a few days stand between you and the next chapter of Destiny 2.
Season of the Lost is wrapping up this week. No better way than with a final mission to tee-up our next expansion. Have you played through it yet? No? Well, get in there! We know The Witch Queen is coming, but this is a fun close to the Season that you won’t want to miss. As a note, the team has been investigating a few issues with the activity since it went live. You may need to play it a few times for the quest to complete, and we ask that if you’re matchmak... Read more

In the Russian Destiny community, people call today's community star “Picture God.” milkpack is a frequent guest in Artist of the Week section in TWABs, the host of a popular Destiny podcast “Guardian.FM,” and all in all is one of the pillars of the Russian Destiny community. Today, we’ll talk about what Destiny weapons and music albums have in common, recording a podcast and cozy warm trips in the car with friends (while everything is burning), and many other topics. Without further ado, let me introduce you to milkpack!

Hey milkpack! It's a pleasure to talk to you. Please tell our readers a little bit about yourself. What do you do? How did you get into Destiny?
MP: Hey! Thank you for this opportunity, it is always a pleasure to talk about the Destiny universe in all of its meanings!
My name is Seryozha Parshakov, I’m an artist, a graphic designer, one of the hosts in the Guardian.FM podcast, and a Void Warlock....

Guardian, to defeat your enemy, first you must know them. The rise of Savathûn is a tale of deceit, of power corrupted, and truth bent to serve nefarious ends. In this interactive trailer, you’ll learn everything the Vanguard knows about the history of Savathûn and her rise to power. Be sure to click on the nodes that appear throughout the video for additional crucial intel.

As you prepare to take up arms against the Witch Queen and her Lucent Brood, remember: even the smallest insight into your foe could be the key to taking back the Light.

This week at Bungie, we showed off a heck of a lot, including more Void 3.0 goodness. We’re also setting some Legendary Campaign expectations alongside a special tribute to our heroes.
What a week so far, and we still have just a little more time to go before The Witch Queen finally arrives later this month. A lot of new info has dropped this week with an enticing new ViDoc and the breakdown many have been asking for regarding ... Read more

With The Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2, Guardians will face unparalleled threats. From exploring the seat of Savathûn’s power – her mysterious and nefarious Throne World – to facing the Lucent Brood – Hive enemies capable of wielding the Light – players will be tested in ways they’ve never been challenged before.
It’s a good thing, then, that Guardians come prepared. In addition to a new Power Cap and a host of new weapons and armor to use in the fight against the enemies of humanity, Guardians will also be imbued with brand new capabilities thanks to some significant changes coming to the Void elemental power coinciding with The Witch Queen expansion. The Void update – what we call Void 3.0 – is the first overhaul of Destiny 2’s elemental powers to come in Year 5 (look for Arc and Solar changes in the future).

“Void abilities haven't really been developed since 2017 and they were a reaction to the sandbox that was in Destiny 1,” said Destiny des... Read more

One Titan stands tall but far from alone.
I’ve been in love with the cosplay community for over two decades now and have frequently gushed about various cosplayers through the years in my writing. So, when we brought back Community Focuses with a bang, you could bet your sweet bum I already had more than a few people in mind. As a Titan main, our return to cosplay goodness was an easy pick: a woman that absolutely pwns when it comes to crafting her perfect Destiny look. Plus, her friends and partner make a mean Saint-14 and an epic homage to Hunters, as well. Ready to finally get some time to shine, Titans? Let’s dive right in with the incredible Laura Moolman, also known by her cosplay alias, Lozza Coolman for her cosplay.

Very excited to get a chance to chat with you and share your work with the Destiny 2 community at large! Before we dive into the details, tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you get into cosplay and Destiny?

This week at Bungie, we’ve got a lot going on.

Hello, and welcome to another installment of This Week at Bungie, our weekly source of news and chatter from around the studio. Nothing too wild happened this week, right? Just your normal Monday morning announcement of BUNGIE JOINS SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT  (“SIE”).
