What’s up Guardians? As we close out the first month of the year, we really wanted to thank you for all for the love and support on these posts. Sharing different humans in the community with you has been something we look forward to doing each day, so being able to focus in on some really neat humans is even better! Don’t forget, these humans don’t have to be anything other than Guardians that love the Destiny universe, we want to see them all.
Up this week we have the one, the only, Danfinity!
Hi Dan!! First up, who are you and what got you into gaming and content creation?
Dan: Hello Guardians, I am Dan! I started gaming on a hand-me-down Atari 2600 (I’m old) that my brother-in-law gifted to me and my younger brother. My brother and I were the youngest of five kids, so we got a lot of hand-me-down stuff until we managed to get a SNES and Gameboys. It was kind of perfect because we had each other ...

This week at Bungie, we kind of kicked a lot of butt, took some names, made grass prettier, and unbanned some folks.

“Hey Guardian, come here often?” You can’t see it, but I’m totally doing a very al
luring eyebrow wiggle but in exo; it’s fantastic. Anyway, it’s our weekly chance at a TWAB-tastic good time and maybe a few more hidden Easter eggs for those that liked finding them in previous blog posts. But alongside bad jokes and cute secret messages, we actually do have real game things to discuss. We’ve got some Ritual Reputation changes, an HDR setting revamp, an update on BattlEy... Read more

We’re back, Guardians, with another spicy Community Focus. We’ll be doing these weekly to showcase various members of the Destiny 2 community. No Light is too big or too small for a little extra love, but this week we wanted to dive into one of the voices of Gamertag Radio, a voice that has continued to fight to make the gaming community a healthier and happier place for all. Ready for a nifty meet and greet? Let’s dive right in with the one. The only: Parris!
First off, thanks for sitting down with us! Many know you from your amazing show called Gamertag Radio alongside Danny Peña (and your hilarious segues with those aviators during the official Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase). With more and more Guardians seeing your love for the Destiny-verse, share with us a little more about yourself and what ultimately led you to the Guardian community?
About me? I’ve always had a love and passion for gaming that goes all the way back t...

This week at Bungie, we’re sweeping up some blues.

Time’s been flying by, hasn’t it? Including the article you’re reading today, just five TWABs stand between you and The Witch Queen. We don’t (yet) have the technology to enter a hyper-sleep that can bridge these gaps, but we do have the power to set some expectations on topics we’ll be covering between now and then.
This week, we’ll be talking about Power, blue drops, Gunsmith reputation, some shifts in Exotic sources, and more. Over the next few TWABs, we’ll be talking Vanguard rep, Gambit reworks, weapon crafting, and Void 3.0... but not necessarily in that order. Don’t forget the patch note previews and additional weapon tuning details. It’ll be a fun time, and hopefully we’ll give you some things to chew on each week. We may even have a trailer or two to share with you before launch. If you haven’t been on social media in the last week, you might have missed some bite-sized snippets of story...  ... Read more

*tap* *tap* Is this thing on?     Welcome back, Guardians! Today we are SO excited to share the first Community Focus of 2022!
What is a Community Focus you may ask? Well, it’s where we (the Community Team) get to introduce a community member and spotlight something about them! This can include, but is not limited to, streamers, artists, cosplayers, 3D magicians, musicians, and the list can literally go on and on. We will be looking for humans all over the interwebs, so please keep posting and tagging us!
So, let’s get on with the show, shall we?
Today, I am proud to introduce GamerGirlGrey!
Hello Grey! Thank you so much for being a part of this! Tell us a little about who you are.
Hello guardians! I’m Grey aka GamerGirlGrey, your next door Indian-American Twitch community builder and gamer with the motto “Gaming for the Greater Good.” I was born and raised in India and moved to the St...

Late last week, an article posted by IGN reported on stories and experiences from several current and former employees here at Bungie. Our CEO, Pete Parsons, responded to the contents that were shared within the article and laid out the significant changes we’ve made and areas in which we will continue to improve. We are nowhere near where we want to be, but we are committed to continue working towards diversity, equity, and inclusion in our studio and the community at large. We believe that an inclusive and diverse team that prioritizes work and life harmony wi... Read more

First, I want to apologize to anyone who has ever experienced anything less than a safe, fair, and professional working environment at Bungie. I am not here to refute or to challenge the experiences we're seeing shared today by people who have graced our studio with their time and talent. Our actions or, in some cases, inactions, caused these people pain. I apologize personally and on behalf of everyone at Bungie who I know feels a deep sense of empathy and sadness reading through these accounts.
Over the last several years, we have worked to make significant changes at Bungie:
  • We have removed bad actors from our studio without respect to their tenure, seniority, or interpersonal relationships – an action we can take only when brave people come forward or when bad behavior is conducted out in the open. We have not always been transparent about what led to their removal or as swift as we should have been, but we will not tolerate toxic behavior from anyone....

This week at Bungie, we’re celebrating our 30th anniversary!

As you may have noticed, we held back a lot of what we had planned for 30th. There were a lot of questions about when the trailer would go live, but we saved it until just a few hours before launch to keep the spoilers to a minimum and the surprise and delight at max volume. If you haven’t got a chance to watch it or just want to rewatch it because it’s really awesome, here you go!

Three decades is a long time to be making games. Everyone at Bungie loves getting to create things to entertain our community and we’ve had a blast finally watching everyone jump in and experience 30th Anniversary this week. Thanks for joining us to celebrate with a ton of new items and experiences in the game.
There is cool content to buy with the pack, but everyone is able to participate, with plenty of free content to go around.

Free to all players!

This week at Bungie, we are celebrating Gjallardays.

Early TWAB this week, but it’s also a short one. Since last week we dropped a six-thousand-word thesis, that will hopefully hold you over. Here in the U.S., we have a short week due to a turkey-related holiday where many thanks are given. Wherever you are and whatever holidays you have coming up, we hope you get to spend some time with your families. But feel free to sneak away to play some Destiny if the parade is dragging on and the Lions game has gotten out of hand.

This week at Bungie, we take a look at every grain in the abilities sandbox.
Hello, and welcome to another sandbox-focused TWAB. If you’re new around these parts, you may be asking, “What’s a sandbox?” — well, it’s complicated. It's split between the weapons you use, the armor you equip, the perks and mods that you hunt for, and the enemies you face. Let's be real; the Destiny 2 sandbox is broad. Last week, we focused on the weapons sandbox and what changes are planned for December 7. This week, we’re taking a pass on the abilities your Guardian possesses. Think Supers, Melee's, Grenades, Class abilities. I highly recommend you grab a glass of water and maybe even a snack, because we've got a pretty lengthy update for you to read.
Before we dive into the details, it’s customary to have a TWAB intro discussing what’s going on in the realm of Bungie and Destiny. Let’s keep this short and sweet, shall we?
  • Our 30th Anniversary is out on December 7, wh...
