Looks like someone used a dev command, you could check the admin command log. This stuff doesn't happen in normal Eco without user interaction, though. Never seen that.

Being propelled in the air is something that sometimes tends to happen, you can teleport people down with a command.

We can't really recommend any cloud service for hosting Eco servers. For AWS the only remotely suitable are the new 2020 ones with somewhat good CPUs, all the rest resulted in horrible performance for Cloud Worlds.

Originally posted by Nintendo: I just bought the game a few days ago so I never tried how it was previously, but what could be the problem with digging more than one ? I bet everyone would be happier, just need to empty the shovel and put it in [carry inventory]. Cart is still needed but not too dependent on it, even 2x or 3x would help much than one, especially for digging floors.

Imo a fun game mechanic is preferable than realistic approach for a game, but if that's how its gonna be then so be it. Its not like I can change anything.

Storage linking should probably just lower the distance or limit how many can be linked or what can link to it, like it's kinda funny for a campfire which usually for cooking to link to a cart,...

Ah yeh, it is part of the game :)

Overcrowding actually was used by a game mechanic and still is, it just was removed temporarily from player planted plants, it still affects natural ones.

Rathelm has correctly summarized what I would otherwise have said, hence I'm saving myself another post that would just repeat it. Basically, the things that you are mentioning were decided by players on the server and neither by us as Developers or Admins of the official servers. We have now addressed this problem, by adding to our server rules (that we actually do decide), that private property of unabandoned people needs to be guaranteed. But it wasn't us that made property being free for all at the end or that decided that you would be unclaimed if you weren't online in five days. That was the decision of the majority of the community on that server.

ALT + Z, as the comment I commented on said. You just need to add the CTRL, as otherwise GeForce Experience will open and it won't work, if you do use it.

Or CTRL + ALT + Z if you're using GeForce Experience.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but as an educator I’ve considered this and you already have several points against you:
1. It takes a huge time investment, which teachers and students generally don’t have.
2. Only a few people “get to” use the functions to run the government and it’s really hard to figure out all the tools and commands to set it up.
3. The ecological impacts are hard to see/share with others. There is no way to export graphs or data or anything educationally valuable to have a discussion about or write a paper on or to do math to etc.

I seem to remember some pre-made maps that had buildings already made, but it would be worth checking into whether any have been made specifically for educators. Basically, can you get it into the following time frame?.
30 minutes, everyone log in and do the tutorial.
30 minutes, everyone choose a specialty.
(Homework: play for at least 1 hour).
30 minutes, show how to vote/government stuff (A...

We actually had and still have very good experiences with schools, they mostly run Eco as a overarching addendum to several subjects several times a week over at least a month to multiple months, so it probably depends on how you're setting stuff up. This is also what it was developed for, at least a month of regular usage in schools, it was never intended to be a 5-6 hour experience, nor a standalone experience or one for only a single subject. It's supposed to be used as a tool to support the lessons, not replace them.

If that works out depends highly on the respective school system, freedom of teaching, the school supervision and the teachers participating, which unfortunately is not only different from country to country or state to state, but probably from school to school.

It's still actively being used in such environments, especially by universities where it probably proved even more useful, as freedom of usage, research on Eco and games itself depending on ...

This SEA Otter is OFFICIAL server, and they're not welcoming new player then, I'm not inactive that long, just one day, I'm waiting for star for masonry skill which was supposed to be available in two days last time I checked, and I'm only inactive one day coz I play other game.

I just hope Steam would refund me now. The server name itself is misleading I just jumped in I thought it was f...

Did you also copy over the configs directory? You might want to reset that online server and move storage and configs directory over, to ensure nothing with the difficulty settings changed.

As is advertised on the store page, Eco does have a player controlled legal system. It's up to players to make laws, in this case a law was passed - not by one, but by the majority of remaining players - that allows everyone access to every property on the server, as long as you are active. (Which could have been crafted in much better ways, as was discussed on the Discord channel of the official server Sea Otter) When you stopped playing for a day, you were no longer considered active, but would have become active again as soon as you played for 30 minutes in the last 36 hours (the default setting as is used on the official servers), then being able to access your property again.

I do understand that this is a frustrating experience on official servers and we have hence since changed the rules of the official servers Giant Panda and Sea Otter in a way that guarantees private property as long as the owner is not abandoned, so this can no longer happen. It is still allowe... Read more

You were playing on an official server, they do have the guaranteed runtime of the server as dates in their server name :)

Yes, it seems the server has passed a law that makes everyone own everything. (The server has already beaten the meteor, so it seems they passed it for celebration, given the cycle is over)

We did have a shovel that was able to do that, but we were not happy with that and have since changed it to the compromise of being able to take more from storages, but not directly from the ground, which also is more realistic. You can still use the "Big Shovel" mod that basically reintroduces the shovel that we once had. We ourselves have no plans to change this.

You also mentioned storage linking, which indeed is a feature of Eco, but not one to stay in the current form forever. Logistics will become much more fleshed out and requiring specialized equipment for later game stuff in the future, where linking will no longer work. Especially transport via chain linking is something that is actually rather an exploit than intended and will not be possible for all times.

As for the pickup range, I've requested QA to take a look on that. Wonky cart physics are already known.

Sea Otter uses normal high collaboration, but meteor is only 21 days there. With optimized efforts you should be able to probably get around 10.
