The Alliance Tournament actually involves a deceptive amount of work to put on well, and when we decided to put the AT on hiatus it was because there was not enough manpower to put on a show up to the standards that the players and competitors had come to expect.

This past year CCP Aurora has been unearthing and updating the tech involved in the tournament, as well as putting together a plan to broadcast it year-after-year in a sustainable fashion. This is the culmination of months of work and preparation.

We have some very robust anti-collusion rules. Both the IGC and the Mordu’s Legion put a high value on competitive play

I believe in you

The plans are to have coverage from the incredibly talented community (along with some CCP guests) in our new studio.

The full rule-set with points will be listed Monday the 19th. But I have bad news, I don’t think ORE ships made the cut

Yes multiple entries are definitely ok. The only reason I called it out specifically in the last rule set is because I needed them to be as separate posts, however that’s not necessary here. I’ll update the Liberation Day contest news item to reflect that.

The tournament format may be similar to previous years, however we feel like the updated point system and the exact rules (to be posted on Monday the 19th) will inspire teams to create fresh setups and broaden the potential Tournament archetypes.

I’m looking forward to the AT being back. This was a fun thing for the community and it was a shame when it went on hiatus. I recall many people saying that the AT was never coming back and I am happy they were wrong.

I doubt I will be able to participate, but maybe I will be able to commentate. Thanks to CCP Aurora and the rest of the team for all their hard work to make this happen

We love seeing the most skilled pilots and theorycrafters that New Eden has to offer duking it out on a grid.

There have been some amazing player-led initiatives since the hiatus of the AT, and it has demonstrated the level of interest that this type of event holds. Alliance Tournament is one of the projects we always wanted to resume, and acquisition of new talent gave us the opportunity to realize this crave this year.

After months of planning and organizing, we were finally able to share that information with the community today. We know that there are conversations on different topics related to EVE Online’s ecosystem, game changes and overall health that are at the forefronts of your minds. We hear you loud and clear. These subjects are continuously talked about internally and we are in the process of preparing a communication piece that will touch on some of the hot topics you want more visibility on. Expect to see it hitting ...

Greetings Capsuleers!

It has come to our attention that a recent update to Sonic Studio 3 has been causing industry wide crashes with games that use the audio engine Wwise. Because EVE Online leverages Wwise we have also noticed a trend of EVE Online clients crashing at start up which began around July 7th, 2021. After investigating we have determined that these crashes are due to a missing AudioDevProps2.dll that the newest version of Sonic Studio 3 uses.

If you have experienced problems starting the EVE Online client, use Sonic Studio 3 and have recently had an update to it applied on July 7th, 2021 or later then we recommend uninstalling Sonic Studio 3 until this issue has been resolved.

Hey all, CCP Bartender here!

There’s been a little bit of confusion about what’s happening with EVE and Linux. Let me do a little information dump and clarify some things.

Before we get to that, I want to reiterate that CCP discontinued official support for Linux in early 2009. A combination of some convenient early technical decisions and extra time by Linux-using devs has allowed Linux to remain surprisingly viable for the last decade, but it is not a supported operating system.

A forum post mentioned...

Howdo, todays launcher update improved the security and fundamental mechanics of how we handle and store tokens locally on Windows & macOS.

This change does not work on Linux, and we have no current plans to support it due to Linux not being a supported operating system by CCP at this time.
