The design as a F2P game was never started.
The session based nature is something I want to explore, as a game developer, rather than just doing what everyone else is. I wanted to explore reasons for players to build and ways to recreate experiences again and again. We simply can't support high fidelity game spaces over lengthy periods of time - as performance would tank. This is why games like Ark and RUST have to do regular wipes.
Time will tell if this is a good idea, but F2P was scrapped because of many reasons one of which it was maybe going to impact design. In fact, the designers and the whole team have been consistently forbidden to even discuss monetization in any meetings at all, for any consideration with the game development, whatsoever.
Dean just let them make your standard fov 80 to 110. its literarly a 30 fps increase on rtx and non rtx cards. tried it on multiple pc's.

The latest updates should have increased the timeout that is causing this to occur. This error (which is badly named 028 - we will fix that and provide something more descriptive) occurs due to a communication problem with the person "hosting" the session. it means "I lost connection with the host", usually because the host shut the game down, or crashed. But it can be because:
We will continue to work on fixing this, it is affecting some other users just like yourself and its intensely frustrating. The increased timeouts should help some users, giving their connections more leniency. There is a limit to this, before other problems arise and would make the session unplayable at best.

Yeah 11 seems to make it smoother. I've been enjoying actually playing so I haven't given it a good dive into optimization, but since u mentioned it that's one of the few I haven't played with yet. I'll have to try in the AM

Can you try updating the game? We pushed an update that should fix this. Hopefully does! You need to right click to remove wires
Maybe out of your realm of expertise, but what's good to tweak performance wise in this game? If I host on a 2070 super I get barely 30-40 fps running medium and below settings and I'm itching to min/Max the graphics because it's a fricken gorgeous game
Are you running it in DX11? Also set shadow cascades to 1
Yup was playing and showing the game off on stream to friends on discord when this happened. Needless to say we all weren't that impressed. Glad to hear it's getting fixed!
