I believe this is intentional.

I can see how sometimes this can be undesirable. If you do not like how this setting works, I would post under feedback section on forums.

I believe the turrets being targetable is intentional therefore opening them up for being stunned/slowed/chilled.

Normally when this kind of issue gets reported it’s strictly only been because of the item being old but I always have to ask just in case.
