It's only the tooltip that is wrong, that happens with micropatches sometimes. We might not be able to fix the tooltip until 14.3 but the buff is there.

Same for me, also on pocketcasts

Edit: The YouTube video has a comment from Jatt: “Also, had some 2024 hiccups with the audio here, so unfortunately I won’t be able to get this episode into Apple/Spotify, but should be fixed for future episodes. Apologies!”

Pocketcasts uses the Apple podcast feed so I guess it just got pushed by accident.

I use a service to blast the podcast to multiple platforms and I had an issue with conversion. Should be putting up a new version on podcast platforms 'soon'. sorry about that

Nah. Reality is that there is a lot going on and it slipped our minds. I never heard a proposal for it that I shot down or anything like that on the basis of cost. Its also not a process for us yet. In 2018 some dev probably thought of it and folks rallied and helped them do it. If no one thinks of it, it doesn't get done.

On the flip side, we're taking this stuff more seriously from now on so its good to get the feedback that folks appreciate and missed things like this.

Auberaun, what ever happened to the high mmr manual moderation in NA trial? I tried searching for updates on that and couldn't find any updates in over a year.

Coulda sworn I posted something somewhere. Anyway, summary was that the methodology was to have agents manually looking at the most reported players per games played, since there's no reasonable way to actually just watch every high MMR game unprompted. In that order the accounts would be reviewed. What we found was that there are truly not that many accounts that grief on a consistent basis meaning, having a pattern of being reported in most matches they play and verifiably trolling, i.e. low hanging fruit. After those, we did apply a number of chat penalties and account locks for accounts that looked compromised, but didn't find a lot of cases where bans were appropriate. There's probably a few reasons for this:

  • Players will report other people they disagree with or are frustrated by, even if those players aren't doing anything that's bannable by our standards.
  • Some players won't report because they forget, don't care enough, or lack faith in the system.
  • ...

Good point, it'll be Zeal and Rectix in 14.2 :)

Am I doing it wrong?

I double checked with some folks and apparently what you are observing is correct! I think my previous suggestion was in fact, wrong.

Sincere apologies.

Can you give what would be the criteria for players to be included in Hall of Legends? International success, longevity, peak, etc.

For Hall of Legends we are looking to honor players displaying incredible resilience, mastery of League of Legends gameplay, and who inspire millions of fans across the globe. We gathered an independent voting panel of esports industry veterans and experts from every region to vote and select our very first inductee. We will have more to share around the criteria as well as other details on HoL later this year, so stay tuned!

Are there plans to revert the change to watch rewards being only granted when watching live? Worlds took place at like 1 AM my local time and it was not feasible to watch while needing to sleep for work the next day.

Drops in its current state reward fans for watching our biggest moments in League of Legends Esports live. However, we are aware that our fans are global and not always able to watch in real time. We are actively exploring ways to reward those fans who catch up outside of the live broadcast!

Can we get an improved practice tool?

As someone who comes from competitive fighting games, it's frustrating to not be able to appropriately "lab" situations out.

I think being able to copy items onto a dummy is already a massive first step, but I would like at least a couple more things if possible:

- Can we be able to set specific hp, armor, and mr values on dummies? The issue I find when testing, especially on champs with hybrid damage like Shyvana, is that AR and MR values always must be the same, but in reality at base values MR is usually around a bit more than half that of armor. So I feel it throws the numbers off a bit.

- Can we make dummies "killable" and be able to view combat stats on them afterwards? So thing like time in combat, damage breakdown, CC breakdown, basically the stats you can see after dying in an actual game

- Can we be able to change runes and sums without exiting the game? Would also be nice if we could de-level

We've got four new buttons coming in 14.2, and I and the team are open to adding more. None of them are what you specifically requested here, but those are some good suggestions Ill take notes on. Generally this stuff is actually pretty difficult to add (while sticking to our strict bars on quality) but we are open to doing more in the future.

There's an argument to be made that based on where it started and where we are that we are already playing League 3 or 4.

If it ever made more sense for us to create a new title rather than continuously update our existing one I suppose we would do that. Right now though, focused on making League the best it can be.

Hey dev team, I really enjoyed the season launch missions from previous years, especially the mystery champion & riddles from last year. Was wondering why you didn't do them this year since they've been a tradition since 2018?

One of the things we are talking about a lot internally is how to tie together all of the different things we do into a cohesive narrative for folks to engage in. When we do this well it rules and when we don't it feels like League is a bunch of different teams all trying to do stuff.

You're describing one tactic we might use to do this: narrative integration with missions.

Should be more to talk about next Season, but both sorry we missed the opportunity this year and excited about what's to come.

We also found that large updates actually have a pretty good chance to turn away returning players (your most loved champion isn't like what you remembered and thus higher barrier to return) and turn off some mains of that champion

Wouldn't it be possible to just.. keep the old version of the champion as well? You'd for example have Fiddlesticks, and Fiddlesticks (Legacy). One has the new kit with his clone wards and AoE drain, one has the old bouncy bird. I'm in this camp you mention and I've lost two of my favourite champion kits to updates. Fiddle being one and self-root mpen Xerath being the other.

What is the difference of that to making a new champ (less baggage, less skins to update etc etc). All of the problems of the old champ will still be there (worse looking in the game, tech etc etc.)
You are also signing up for making double of all skins coming out.

TBH its like whack a mole(different discipline at different time)...because of several factors:
1) Different teams are working on different things so at different moments one discipline might be more available than another. Ex: When Arena first launched we were operating with very little VFX support because it was all hands on deck to help out with all of the different augments.
2) We can't exactly lock people to the team XD Ex: After covid while everyone re-assessed their lives bunch of folks decided to leave Riot, try new teams or even stay but switch up what they are doing. Ex: We had to re-staff up animation.
3) Quality bar, things like Splash Art ... we are looking for unicorns in the industry. Taking them from other teams is just moving the problem around.
4) Training, to restart a discipline we have to get existing folks to train up new ones. There will always be onboarding time no matter how good the person is at their role. That require time from the ve...

Anyone that runs into accounts like this, dont report them in game.

Screenshot the name (if you can) and manually report them after the game via the website.

Itll get reviewed by a human and theyll get the boot.

Feel free to submit player tickets if you feel strongly about the name.

That being said, you SHOULD also report them in game if you think it's inappropriate.
