If you’re seeking to test your mettle against a single other player, you can always duel! I can understand the desire for this game mode, but we have other content planned that’s higher priority for us than 1v1 Arena mode at this time.

As Properso mentioned, we’ve done a rather deep pass on which enemies can stagger and on what attacks. Our vision moving forward is that attacks that can stagger are well telegraphed, with ample time for the player to respond. If there’s particular AI that you feel are specifically problematic, feel free to call them out and we can investigate if they’re up to our standards, but in the last few patches we have significantly reduced the overall quantity of AI staggers in the game.

Hi folks,

The lighting during the Brimstone Sands patch was the result of a bug with the arena level. We fixed that bug and brought the lighting back to its intended state after that patch. At this time we don’t have plans to revert that change.

Those numbers are for what we call our passive Season XP gain. This passively rewards you with season XP for participating in content within the game. It’s not intended to be the primary driver of progression through the pass, that comes from your Season Journey and Season Activities which give meatier progression and significantly more XP. So in practice, your Outpost Rush example would also include the activity cards asking you to get a Killing Blow or participate in an Outpost Rush, which can give you a good bit more Season XP, the passive XP is just an additional bonus on top of those gains.

That said, we are adding in a few additional passive XP vectors with the next PTR update, and are looking into additional enhancements on top of those. We’ll be looking at data and feedback closely!

We tend to agree that with all the other changes introduced in the PTR and how the Blunderbuss was untouched, it was a bit too strong in some aspects. Because of that we are going to make some changes before the S1 launch:
• Fixing a bug on claw shot cancel windows that was allowing some combos we didn’t want
• Reducing the stamina damage on ASB
• Reducing damage of consecutive pellets for ASB

We’ll also be keeping an eye on the Blunderbuss after release, and make sure these changes are sufficient.

In episode 18 of Forged in Aeternum, host Charles Bradbury (Art Director) is joined by Sojin Hwang (Associate Art Director) and Gabriela Escamilla (Outsource Art Lead) to talk about the process of designing outfits and skins.

From brainstorms, themes, and moodboards, to the final product the team takes you through the art of Aeternum fashion. Sojin dives into how historical accuracy plays into the evolution of attire, while Gabriela reveals her favorite theme so far.

Thanks for the feedback! We like the idea of the Seasonal category as pointing at content that’s unique to that season, however we agree that more activities can fall into that category. We’ll take a look at this and see what can be added here to make this category stronger.

Thanks for the call out, this was an oversight on our end and we’ll work to make sure Flame Cores are tradeable like other resources.

The goal of the stagger changes was two-fold:

  1. To identify a move as either a CC move or a damage move. And if it’s a CC move to make sure damage is low/moderate, and if it’s a damage move to remove the the CC.

  2. More clearly differentiate which weapons had CC/staggers to differentiate weapons better.

In reviewing our decisions, I do think the removal of the stagger on all FnF was overly aggressive because it hurt the ability as a whole. We are reviewing this and will likely add the stagger back to first part (with a slight reduction in damage to that part) before S1 goes live.

The musket is a hard weapon to balance in a game like New World. But we do believe we can find a role for it in PvP - where its not dominate, but also not useless.

As a few posters have noted in this thread, the accuracy perk does make a pretty big difference at long range. That’s an intentional design decision where you have to forgo another potentially useful perk, to gain the distance advantage.

The changes in PTR are pretty drastic, but we want to make sure we move the meta here. We are reviewing the changes and considering making some minor adjustments, mostly to the inaccuracy caused by aiming, before it goes live in S1.
