We know it's a pain, the job to fix it has been assigned, and I'm hopeful it is coming sooner rather than later. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Can guarantee most of these guys will be RWTing it off. We saw exactly the same with comission stakers. We even had people who were fighing their own accounts and deliberately losing.

Why the f**k don’t they host it in Cambridge, the nightlife there is decent because the university is there, transport is easy and can handle the event, and the city in general is great if your visiting from the US and want to book a bit longer and see the sights.

You either haven't been to Cambridge, or haven't been anywhere with a good nightlife.

On a serious note, how hard would it be for you guys, considering all the membership fees we pay, to put a little chat box at the bottom right hand corner of OSRS home page providing 24/7 live-chat support for your user base? Or at least Monday - Friday??

Seriously, why is it such a ball ache to get you lot to take notice of our account issues? I've been playing this game since 2004 and you provide the worst customer service support I have ever seen.

Would love to hear what you have to say about this.

The live chat system is something that's already being looked into I believe. The technical restrictions that were mentioned in the first player support blog were preventing them from really exploring it previously. That does also come with the additional issues of verifying someone's identity and for issues like account recovery, they would still need players to go through the recovery system anyway.

No it shouldn't and if he followed the advice in the replies that he got from our support team, when his recovery requests were denied, he could have resolved this issue without using Reddit

Edit: I was being sarcastic. Cause now hackers know exactly what to look for when taking over your account

You're welcome. This is what's asked for when you submit a recovery request and is also listed in numerous places in the support centre

How do Jagex verify whether you're the original creator?

If it's based on IP and MAC address of the original creation, then I'm f**ked if I get hacked because obviously both of those have changed in over 12 years.

It's normally fairly obvious when an account has changed hands. We expect people to move around over the years and we wouldn't expect you to be playing from the same PC years after you created the account. So long as you have good links to the account and can provide some good older information, you shouldn't have much to worry about

Is the player told this without having to post on reddit?

They're asked in the replies to their denied appeals to provide information about the creation of the account and any changes in location since creating it

Those are available only in RS3 I'm afraid - we don't add exclusive items to OSRS. The messaging isn't that clear actually now that I look at the little card. Apologies!

I've taken a look at the account and I can see that the recovery requests are being denied because you don't appear to be the legitimate creator of the account. From the information that you've been supplying, it would appear as though you were given/purchased the account a couple of years ago.

I can however also see that the account isn't currently in the hands of the account creator so I've secured it.

To recover the account, you will need to supply us with earlier information that would help to prove that you created it. This information would include creation location, billing contact details and earlier passwords.
