A small patch was deployed to Test today in our march towards a stable NSO faction system. Here are some of the fixes. Bug Fixes
  • Tutorial Disabled Temporarily while we iron out the details for NSO.
  • No more friendly fire in the warpgates for NSO characters.
  • Deployables mistaking allies for enemies should now be fixed.
  • Terminals inside of warpgates should now be usable by NSO characters.
  • Vehicle weapons should now work correctly for NSO characters.
  • Made some repairs to how characters appears in the new Character Create Screen.

How much animation work, exactly? Kind of a brag, but I was able to create animations for pistol dual wielding mod for XCOM 2 in three weeks or so. And I'm an amateur.

A lot of animation work. It is a new wield type so there would need to be custom locomotion animations (passive, active and ADS stances, as well as jumps, falls, and lands), reloads, deaths, firing recoils, additives for aiming, custom vehicle animations, hit recoils, etc. And that is just the actual animation work. There also needs to be the animation network support for handling all of these new animations. It also has to be done for both first and third person for everything I just listed. Looking at the video I am sure you have a sense of this stuff, it is just a in a larger scale than XCOM. It is quite a time investment to do this right.

Nanite Systems Operatives We've begun our initial testing phase of the Nanite Systems Operatives system, referred to internally as "Black Ops." These mercurial robots will always fight for the lowest populated faction on whichever continent the player zones into. NSO characters can be created on Test Server using the character create system, and selecting the "Secret Stuff" faction. (But shhhh, let's keep this between us.) As an NSO character, you'll have access to common pool weapons and vehicles, and be able to fight alongside the faction you're assigned to. This initial round of testing has some unfinished features and fixes we're still working toward. We've listed known issues below. Please write a /bug report for anything new you discover.
  • NSO characters have no damage immunity in the Warpgate.
  • Many consumable/deployable items are unfinished.
  • Squad/personal waypoints don't appear on the map, but do appear on the HUD.

  • Continent events should now rotate more quickly.
  • Pumpkin Pods have returned to their normal Drop Pod selves.
  • Fixed some skinning issues with the Rift Knight armors. Icons still MIA in this update.
  • Magrider's base movement speed has been increased by roughly 5 to 10 kph depending on movement angles and chassis options.
  • Sunderer's Luminous Deflector tires should once again move with the wheels.
  • TR restoration kits no longer have an extra upgrade level which costs 1 cert.
  • Various geometry fixes across continents.
  • Nano-Repair Grenades can now repair terminals that are in a dead state.

PC servers will be taken offline on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 6 AM PT (1400 UTC) for maintenance. Downtime is expected to last up to 3 hours. Misc. Changes and Fixes.
  • Fixed an issue with certain camos being broken for NC players.
  • Construction objects will no longer provide repair experience while decaying without a Silo nearby, as intended in last week's update.
  • Added many more loading screens to the pool. In the future, the continent art will line up with the zone you're heading to.
  • All players should be able to redeem the "6YearsPS2" code in the depot now for free lewtz. If you've redeemed the code prior to this update, and only received items for one character, entering it again should grant items account wide.
  • "Gold" weapons and single-use gold camo will now appear more gold and less oily.
  • Continent rotations no longer get "stuck."

You can bind anything to the control key in-game. Pretty sure I set one of my push-to-talk keys to control at one point in the past. Maybe the 'disable indicator interactions' default can be unbound, and cannot be rebound? This was added the same time as construction, and the new controls for manipulating construction objects originally had some hard-coded keybinds that didn't play nice if you rebound wasd to something different (eg: I use esdf). /u/db_zant

I suspect you're correct and you clobbered this keybind when you had your push-to-talk bound to the ctrl key. I'm not sure why it isn't appearing in the list of keybinding options in the settings, but it's something I can look into tomorrow.

In the meantime, I have a few workarounds that might be able to help you out: First, It looks like either left or right control will allow you to click through allies on the minimap. If you haven't bound anything to your right control key give it a try and see if that works for you.

If not, you can try fiddling with your keybind file in the PlanetSide install directory (mine is C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\PlanetSide 2). If you have a shortcut on your desktop just right click > open file location and it should take you to the directory. Once there, follow these instructions:

  1. Close out your game.
  2. Locate InputProfile_User.xml and open it up in a text editor.
