Hi AkshayTP,

As I’m sure you will understand, we’re constantly amending our name filters in an attempt to remove any unwanted content from the game - it’s a constant challenge to stay up to date with any words or terms which may be deemed as offensive.

Should we add a new term to our name filter we won’t immediately remove any names that contain that term, however as soon as the name is released from an account it will no longer be available for a player to claim.

Our systems work in such a way that even if the filtered word is included as part of a longer name, the name will be affected by the filter.

We are currently looking into the name filter and what changes can be made, but for now, it’s going to be a case of choosing an alternative name to set onto the account.

I can see you’ve also submitted a ticket regarding the situation. I’ve noted your account thoroughly regarding the situation and we’ll see what we can do about the bond purcha...

Wow, this is fantasic /u/ImRubic.

However I would like to clarify a few things...

Submission

The line

"Google is more relaxed with the process."

was not meant to be taken literally :P. The process for submitting builds to both Google and Android is quite stressful and there are a lot of rules we have to abide by. This was more of a throw away comment because we managed to get it passed Google a bit faster than Apple.

App Size

You have stated some sizes for initial sizes, however these were plucked from memory and wont be accurate. Could you put a disclaimer stating this :).

Ribbon

This line

Ribbon Icons - Customizable layout. (44 pixels vs normal 36 pixels).

Hey - I head up Player Support at Jagex, so just to clarify:

  • We provide Player Support 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Our core office hours are 8am to 10pm UK time
  • Over night, from 10pm to 8am UK time we have Player Support staff working from home, set up as if they were in the office, responding to queries, account recovery appeals, checking bug reports, player abuse reports, and importantly, checking that systems are operational, and escalating to Dev & Tech on call teams if there is a problem.
  • Specifically on Twitter, we monitor this during our core hours, with the assistance of Community Helpers, and we have ensured that the Community Helper volunteers are situated around the world, so there is help available on Twitter between 10pm & 8am UK time.

Your best option, always, is to visit the Support Centre and submit your query from there - contrary to the belief of some, twitter support is about signposting players to the suppo...

Is it??? When you see that we have over 47,000 followers for @jagexsupport, maybe that's not so absurd. Also, when we created that account, we realised that players were wanting to use twitter to ask questions, or get help - so we actively decided to have a presence on there. Whilst we cannot resolve account or payment queries on twitter (it could be anyone tweeting, and we always need to verify account ownership before talking about account details), we can certainly direct anyone needing assistance to the right area of the Support Centre for further help.

We decided to go where players were asking for help - a bit like on Reddit - there's an active player presence on here, so we regularly check it, and reach out to anyone needing help.

Our advice will always be to go to the Support Centre to check articles, or search for your issue (and the Support Centre is optimised for mobile devices), but we totally get that not everyone wants to do that in the first inst...

Hi there,

As you state you are using a wireless connection, could you please try using an ethernet cable to connect your computer to your router. Although wireless connections are convenient, they were not designed with gaming in mind. As such, it is usually best to use an ethernet cable to connect to your router, particularly while troubleshooting problems.

However, if the problem remains even while using a direct ethernet connection to your router, please contact our tech team so we can look into this further for you.

I really hope that either the jmod who said it was cancelled was mistaken or that the work is still going to be used in some form because this stuff looks amazing.

We experiment with and prototype a lot of different game ideas. We have small teams, separate from our live games, dedicated to exploring new game ideas. Part of that is trying out different art styles, camera perspectives, that sort of thing.

It only affects specific pc configurations+specific gfx settings. Mod Dolan (one of the NXT devs) has confirmed this issue, and said they'll be looking into fixing it on Monday. For the time being, just hop to world 97 (a bounty hunter world) to force you into Edgeville.

Two posts about it, with Mod Dolan's replies on the second one:

The process for upgrading via RuneScape Bonds isn't currently working - here's a work around:

FYI - if anyone is still stuck, I've stuck up a workaround process that will help you still grab your desired Premier Club package or upgrade.

FYI, we found the cause of the issue, it should be fixed on Monday. For the time being you can delete js5-16.jcache in C:\ProgramData\Jagex\RuneScape or teleport to a BH world. The crash will be world specific so try and use a different world to the one you crashed on.

You may have a rare blood group, in which case finding a match will be tricky.

But, more seriously, if you hop from a free to a members' world, this'll happen. There's a bugfix for this issue currently working its way through QA.
