Update on Livestreams

As we've not had one for a couple weeks, I just wanted to let you know we are looking to potentially get some Livestreams out this week (and we're working on a Q&A for the near future too - we're working things out around people's holidays).

Given this is a major update, we didn't want to commit to a stream in the TWIR this week that we may end up cancelling or rescheduling if the team have bigger hotfix priorities. We'll keep you updated on it as we'd love to hop on a stream this week to talk about Wilderness!

An important message about the early hours of this update...

It’s pretty major work to take a significant area of the game and transform the way it looks and operates. An update like this will therefore bring with it some risks. We want to be ready – even over-prepared – for the unexpected.

When the update deploys, we will be taking our Worlds down for a few minutes to take a snapshot: a picture of your account, who owns what, etc.

If any major issues occur, we will then have this snapshot to roll back to if absolutely necessary.

For this reason, we recommend that up until 16:00 Game Time you do not take part in any activities where you might gain something valuable that would be painful to lose.

Again, we don't expect anything bad to happen, but it may be best to remain cautious!

Yeah they'll work now. There's some other PvP restrictions that have been removed too when opted out, like coins going into the coin pouch directly, opening the wardrobe from anywhere, movement abilities not having the shared cooldown

You'll be warned when clicking on the wall to enter the wilderness if you're manually opted in to PvP, or if you're holding an item that forces you into PvP (cursed energy, demonic skull, div-o-matic, etc)

Killing monsters in the wildy will increase your threat level whether you're on task or not. But only Mandrith tasks will award the slayer chest at the end of a task.

The slayer log for Wilderness remains unchanged.

You cannot PvP without the skull, so dying whilst opted in will always lose your items, unless any prayers or items are used to protect some.

Attempting to pickup cursed energy will give a confirmation popup that it will opt you in to PvP. This happens whether picking up directly or via area loot. Telegrab on such items has been disabled.

*Does a skull force PvP on or will it remain the all items lost on death? The skull is now the signifier that you're opted in to PvP, so it will be always on you when opted in to PvP, and applies the standard skull mechanics too (all items lost on death)

*Are there any warning before an action to enable PvP on divination/warbands? A confirmation popup box

*Will it be possible to teleport from anywhere in the wild to leave or do we still need to be below 20/30? Existing restrictions apply

*Will PvP be automatically opt-out for everyone? Yes
