I'm pleased to report that Mod Easty hotfixed the pink dye issue earlier today. Just got home and checked on my main to confirm and yep, you can definitely get pink dye from Betty. Happy Falador area tasking!

Cropped screenshot burying the lede here. As others in the comments have already noted, yes - this is explicitly designed to allow existing RuneScape players, who have been a member, and have missed the last Double XP Live, to get a chance to catch up and jump back in. This is significantly less Double XP Time (50% less!) than existing players literally just had.

I can appreciate the concern behind this but I want to assure you that the design behind this Returning Member Offer is something that we've spoken about at length. This is ideal for a friend or an account that's not played in a while and wants to get back into the swing of things but isn't entirely ready to commit to a month's membership or has just missed DXP and wishes they could close that gap to their goals a little more.

We're happy to see feedback around this and we wanted to give it a chance and see how it resonates with players and what kind of impact it has. I, myself, ...

We don't have patch notes this week, as production was shut down the last few days for the quarterly gamejam so the release candidate team could participate.

So earliest for a cold fix would be next Monday - but combat beta is in RC this week, which is huuuge, and likely to limit how many bugfixes can be accepted into RC this week.

I've requested a hotfix for the pink dye issue (it's a server-script only change, so can be hotfixed), but whether that passes is at the release candidate team's discretion.

It works on OSRS.

Lots of Jmods love the older quests and there is plenty of ideas and discussions on bringing them back, the issue I believe Doom was trying to convey is that a lot of the early quests were designed and essentially tied to their creators and there isn't a blueprint lying around that we can follow to continue on in the previously intended design.

So while we could pick them up again and aim to be faithful to the setup, it will be unlikely we get it just right, and that is before we even talk about if we can even live up to the expectations players have been building up in their minds for years (I have seen theories on Arposandra being an incredibly complex underground system of areas complete with multiple bosses and raids for example).

In the future there could definitely be follow ups to older quest lines but if we had planned on doing them we would want to do them right.

Because it wasn't months away when we advertised it. It was intended to be a few weeks away at most, but the roadblocks that we've encountered have delayed the deployment, so that's why there's a gap between the two.

I found another bug/oversight. When trying to do Dimension of Disaster: Defender of Varrock you need 43 mage for the superheat spell to fix the tin soldier. No where in the quest guide on wiki or in game says you need 43 mage and you didn't need 43 mage for the Defender of Varrock quest in the overworld.

Thank you! That looks to be due to relying on inheriting the 59 Magic req via Defender of Varrock that used to be on Family Crest to defeat Chronozon.

Have requested a bug report from our QA.

Well, not that kind. Depends on the player, I suppose! To Woodcutting mains, Woodcutters' Grove was a major update. To clue chasers, more things to use dyes on is always a major update. To PvMers, the upcoming Combat update will be a major update. Who knows? The future is a mystery to us all.

Worth remembering that the Mod working on this is part of the Marketing team, not a developer per se!
