When did this start happening?

At most they would be able to see the IP addresses that are connecting to their servers.

Pairing really only gives them permission to send push notifications to Rust+ running on your devices and you can revoke that permission by disabling Rust+ in game or turning off notifications for the server in Rust+.

The server browser does show the ping from your computer to the game server.

You may be concerned about the server browser ping not matching your in-game ping, or you see the "Ping Warning" message on the loading screen. That is because some non-Facepunch game servers have chosen to respond to the pings from servers all around the world in order to appear on the server browser quicker and with seemingly lower ping for everyone. We know it's misleading but there isn't much we can do about it on our end because they aren't our servers.

Can you show a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Can't really do much to prevent fake ping on the server browser itself. The people running those servers are intentionally abusing the system to get their servers to show up quicker and with better ping than it really is.

Also it is possible for the ping warning to show incorrectly if there is some temporary lag. This would be improved in the next patch.

If you still see this then you need to update Rust again.

For desktop use, you should expect your SSD to have a longer lifespan than your HDD.

When did you last play? System requirements have a minimum of 10GB of RAM.

Try closing everything on your PC and playing on servers with small maps and low population. Might be able to squeeze in there.

This is all handled by Steam so nobody here would be able to do anything. You'll need to contact Steam support instead. However, this sounds like you may have gotten scammed - perhaps the trade wasn't actually canceled?

Hah, no. Unity is quite bad with Linux. Vulkan support was totally broken causing graphical glitches and memory leaks. They've somehow had the same bug appear, get fixed, and come back three or more times (keypresses getting duplicated). List goes on.

We're working on anticheat changes which should allow you to play on Linux via Proton when complete.
