I will update this post once it is live.

Some of the bugs related a nasty bug that only affected about 50% of users. One of two of them affected everyone.

Apologies folks.

Im having trouble finding myself! I'll double check, I believe it should be on by default. It is supposed to be toggleable.

We are in the process of migrating a number of things, so I will check this and confirm.

After 5 years, the only real way to play being using a VPN is a joke.
You do not need to play via VPN.

However, you need to either:
* Port forward your router; or
* Enable UPnP

You also need to:
* allow the application through your firewall

I am not sure how VPN would help at all, in fact I think it would likely make things much worse.

Once the ice sublimates, it can often be very very cold.

Ice melt to temperature
Ice melting occurs due to temperature, but the gas must be above the armstrong limit (6.3kPa) for most thermodynamics to occur in the game (if below that, particles are considered too far apart). This isn't *quite* how it is, the armstrong limit is a real thing... but we moved a lot of numbers around it to make the simulation more predictable.

Ice will sublimate in a vaccum, as it gets heated due to solar radiation, if it is in direct sunlight.

Yep - there is a dedicated server for either linux or windows.

A guide is available: https://github.com/rocket2guns/StationeersDedicatedServerGuide

Note that it has recently been updated with entirely new netcode. Much better than before, but many guides will be outdated and based on the old system.

There is a setting for "pause when empty".

Note players need to be in an oxygenated (and CO2 scrubbed) sleeper to keep living.

Note that in the factorio multiplayer instructions[wiki.factorio.com] that if you do not play through steam, you don't get access to the steam SDK provided peer-to-peer or nat traversal features.

It is extremely expensive to support both the full steamSDK and maintain steam agnostic support. For most of Factorio's development, this was not supported. However, factorio is one of the best selling games on steam.

It is unfortunately not standard to provide this one click service, as there is no way to do it without fully integrating the steamSDK. This works if you are okay making your game entirely dependent on steam, or writing two completely different systems to handle those with steam and those without.

Using steam's inbuilt peer-to-peer has issues, and it also requires us to require the SteamSDK for all users. We have removed the requirement for this, making the game completely DRM free. This allows all users to play the game together, whether their copy is pirated, copied from someone else, or via steam or anywhere else. This means the game will survive even if our studio goes under, or steam stops operating etc...

Because of how security and routers work, unless customers "allow" an application through a firewall and router - the game is not visible. This is an important aspect of modern in... Read more

Thats for reporting - we will get this fixed as soon as we can. Sorry about that!

You can build a "sleeper" that will suspend metabolic functions (hunger, thirst, etc...) while someone is inside it.

However, the sleeper will not provide oxygen; which a suspended body will still require. You can connect a passive vent up to the input of the sleeper to simply mix with the atmosphere of the room, or setup an active scrubbing system.

Note that suspended bodies will still produce carbon dioxide and heat, so you will need to deal with that.

Good luck!

Can you confirm if UPnP is enabled in config for the host, and on the router for the host? If not using Upnp, you will need to make sure the ports are forwarded. Additionally, check firewall settings.

Note the game was *completely* revamped less than a month ago. The netcode was entirely replaced. If you read reports here, it works extremely well.

A good comparison video by a content creator is below.

There was some bugs, we just released a hotfix - double check you are on latest version.

Also though I *have* noticed weirdness in other games with the changes to steam cloud - so keep us posted!

Sure, there are appearance differences but if you think there's no change to game play you are sorely mistaken.
This was my fault, sadly. Many in the community had said they would love us to add "extra" content, as for some people they play the game for thousands of hours and wanted to give a little more to the project.

We came up with "cosmetic skins", but when i saw the skins... I felt uncomfortable with them not being different (human entities in game have organs etc...).

So I dedicated a weekend, in my own time, to add "new" stuff. I tried to keep it balanced, but it ended up being quite a change! So yes, it was intended to be cosmetic - but it just felt weird to have robots with organs.

If anyone has any suggestions, please do let me know.

  • Fixed saves not loading when there is a bad backup or autosave
We have another fix coming shortly as well, we are just testing it.

Note steam sometimes doesn't update quickly, check version is v0.2.3407.16727. If not, restart steam.
