After checking with the team it was working the same way before the update, meaning SEE wasn't gaining any Protection from enemies with 0 max Protection.
As for the issue with "Deceived" not spreading when SEE is transformed into his ultimate, we have already flagged this as a bug.

It was ... kind of annoying to work through, actually. We didn't have a lot of time to pre-pro and make each character unique enough. We released less toons since but overall I think they’re much higher quality.
Granted, no release cadence is perfect and theres a lot more to it than people think.

I'm also missing some cara dune shards from one tier, but I'm pleased I got my mod mats at least.
Edit: They were nice, looked into it. Determined I got them all. I swear I was missing some but hey I'm just happy someone checked.

Appreciate the rewards! I pulled out of tier 1 and 2 to put in an undersized squads and never got the cara dune shards in the makeup. Just wanted to bring it to your attention in case it has affected other players.

That the battle didn't finish is an indicator that the connection to the server was lost and couldn't be re-established. This can happen for a variety of reasons (game crash in the background, a lost connection in general, etc.)
What phone and Android version are you on? We've checked this on several Android devices and it was showing correctly as "Heroes" when there was an app name visible/displayed.
