That's unfortunate, because that's the only known workaround at present! All you can really do is try the launcher again every time it gets updated, which is about every 8 weeks or so.

Sorry about that!

If the save crashes reliably AND was started under the 1.8 patch, it's very likely a game bug. Please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach the save file there for QA to look into.

Is your JavaScript error identical to the one in the OP here? if so, can you update to MacOS 12?

Did it just suddenly get slow from one day to the next, or gradually?

Either way, was it after some particular game, Windows, driver or hardware update?

First, update that nVidia driver to late November 2022 ... Read more

Moving your save files using File Explorer does not somehow alert the launcher or game that you've done that! They will continue to look in the default place , which is usually Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\save games . That Documents folder is pointed to by a variable in Windows.

What happens if you run stelalris.exe directly from File. Explorer, any Windows error show then?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Dxdiag won't fix anything, it's just a way of me getting info about your system.

Has it always been like this for you? Or it was okay up to some point?

Is it like this right from 1444, or only in mid or late game play? Or only after playing for a period?

Is the slowness in load time, time passing day to day, jerkiness in zooming or scrolling the map? Or all of these?

Certainly there's nothing I can do about this, as an external support contractor.

Probably best to make it a Bug Report in that forum.

Good luck!

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user empire designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new galaxy - NOT any existing one

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

THEN Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

You should have got emails explaining how to get the crown, did you not?

Basically it is in the barber shop, from what I understand.

If not, unsubscribe then subscribe again.

Is this after starting the game from the Steam PLAY button?

Have you opted into any older game version in the Steam Betas tab perhaps?

This issue is addressed in the patch release notes:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/dev-team-3-6-0-orion-released-checksum-0028.1559378/

Known Issue: We have become aware of some reports of the launcher incorrectly stating that DLC installs are corrupted. This is a purely visual bug, and we are currently investigating a fix.

All the best!

LOcto said: UPDATE: I found the CK3 folder, but the log files are nowhere to be found. I could find just the Save_game_analyzer.gui file and the log_viewer.gui file.
That's probably the Steam-CK3 folder, rather than where the game writes its documents.

The binary and DLC folder by default are in ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader\ Kings\ III/

The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx, mods) are I think in .local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Crusader\ Kings\ III/ .

You tried HOI4 in both Steam and Nakama modes I guess?

But either way, I have no real explanation for what you are seeing there.

Then this is not a known problem, based on the details you've provided so far. But of course the Linux user base is tiny, and the non-Ubuntu user base even smaller!

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.
