This game and CSL are completely unrelated, aside from being published by us - different game engines and different development studios. So it is likely you have two separate issues.

You could try over in User Mods (as they are experienced in editing save files), but in general uncorrupting any computer file is like unscrambling an egg!

What I suggest for the future is to make a manual copy of your Ironman save file just before or after each play session, just in case.

It's in the game's settings, I think under Video or graphics?

Did this happen when you changed the game's resolution, something like that?

Have you tried the UI scaling feature in the game?

LAUNCHER PROBLEM: Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

GAME PROBLEM:
Inability to change settings is normally an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to... Read more

If you load this save on any other machine you might have access to, do you get the same problem?

If so probably best to post that save in Bug Reports here, for QA to look into.

I just updated my Intel iMac to MacOS 13.1 and the game runs fine. Are you all on Apple Silicon perhaps?

A pretty clear bug, so please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach the save there for QA to look into.

Sorry for that problem!

If the Windows user Documents folder has moved onto OneDrive, and the Windows variable points there, then that's where our launcher needs to get access to.

Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say in there?

P.S.S. and my another friend from Kemerovo (700km from me) has no problem with ping
That makes it quite clear it is a local problem I'm afraid.

In your VPN did you set it to appear to be in the USA? That's usually best.

I see, probably best to make a Bug Report in that forum then.

Sorry for that issue!

Is your Windows user Documents folder actually on OneDrive? If so is that facility on, running and syncing okay?

And do you actually want your documents held on MS's servers?

Are you running the launcher in standalone mode? Or from the Steam PLAY button?

Because this game is no longer supported in standalone mode.

So on a different computer you had this same problem?

If so it's an issue with your MS account I think, but I don't know what to suggest you do about that ...

I frankly have no idea, I am sorry. This is not a general problem of course.

Can you try a different machine on that same network? Then on a different network?

Does using a VPN make any difference?

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.
  3. Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
  4. Click on Change adapter options.
  5. Right-click all network adap...

Only autosave, not after say a manual save?

That sounds like you have a launcher problem, not a game issue as such. Does running ck3.app get the game going for you?

The most common launcher problem on Mac is if MacOS is below 12 - is that the case here? If so can you update?

As this game is unsupported on Apple Silicon, I doubt very much this will ever be fixed, I'm sorry to say!
