Over 1% of the player base has this achievement, so we know it is gettable and not bugged.

I'll move you to the main forum for a wider audience of gameplay experts.

Does your host also show that same version, 1.34.4 ac5e? If not the problem is on their end, they have a mod in use most likely.

If you both see that version, try having both of you select the Nakama MP game option from ythe mini-menu you see when you start the game from the Steam PLAY button (not a shortcut).

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
OR
- exit the Epic app entirely
- run EpicGamesLauncher.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the Epic client

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

I take it this is not the Steam edition, as I see you only appear to own HOI4 there?

Is it perhaps on Gamepass, or the Xbox console?

Draxes said: the system gave me this crash message: "Error: Cannot initialize OLE"
I've not seen that one before, by googling it seems to be an SQL server error? Which cannot be the problem here .... !

In any case from that error log there's a video driver or card problem. Let's do a clean update of that nVidia driver:

- uninstall it and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install November 2022 ... Read more

MojoRisin said: Thanks for your reply. I have been in touch with Paradox and it turns out that the minimum requirements for the game were changed following the 1.6 versions - meaning that I am able to run the game with the latest 1.5 version (albeit very laggy) and without the features of some of the newer expansions (Iberian Struggle does not work for example).
The minimum requirements were not changed in this game. However recent patches are more fussy in requiring those minimums be met.

Clearly there's a problem with the MS store/Xbox setup on the problem machine then. What if you make a new Windows user on it and log into Windows as that? Same problem?

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log ,exceptions.log

Did you do those steps in post #2 above?

If so, can you test on another machine ?

Actually it would be up to Razer to address that. Check with them for updates to their drivers and utilities.

Good luck!

Because the launcher is not the cause of your problem, presumably.

Sony is currently investigating but there's a chance the content is actually in the game despite the error.

Let us know what you see!

FYI we here in this forum cannot fix game bugs; that's what Bug Reports is about.

Do you have a save that's never had any mods used in it, that reliably crashes in this way?

You mention autosaves; does this not affect manual saves?

grotaclas said: Do you have confirmation about this from the developers?
I was referring to the dialog that comes up when you run the game from eu4.exe , saying some features may not work properly when the game runs that way (eg mods, sometimes DLCs). I'm sure that's WaD, yes, as no doubt they wrote it deliberately!

I wasn't aware of the two different Steam IDs thing, no.

I deleted your defamatory and incorrect assertions. This is your first and only warning on this matter, any further such comment and action will be taken.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

I have no experience on the Deck, I barely even know what one is! But if it basically works like a Linux machine then Steam ought to sync save games, yes.

Does Steam on the Deck should the cloud is up to date?

What happens when you save to. cloud on the Deck? I assume it has no local save capability.

Do you see those saves here?

If it is a Steam glitch, as I think you are saying, then we won't be looking into it further.

FYI we don't have other such reports so it's very likely a Steam installation issue on your machine. A clean Steam reinstall (delete everything in the Steam folder except steam.exe and the /SteamApps/ folder) will probably fix it.
