Hmmm. You might try a Disk First Aid from the Disk Utility in MaOS.

Sorry, is this the launcher or the game crashing? I can't tell from that screenshot.

If the launcher: run the game ./stellaris in a terminal command line - does it start up then?

What if you run ck3.app and hoi4.app directly from Finder, do they work then?

This is just this one colony? If you start another new one you can play it okay?

Any mods in use?

My Ubuntu 22.04 installation has libc 2.35 and works fine, so it seems your problem is elsewhere.

Quite where I frankly have no idea at this point! Do you have access to any Linux support resources that could help tracking down that error?

Did you want to pursue that issue, or are you okay with GFN?

IF you do: Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

No real idea what could cause that. Any mods involved?

Was your clean reinstall like this?

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV folders - In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx, mods) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Intera... Read more

Unusual errors 1619 and 1620, but still. definitely an issue in the Windows installation service msexec.exe

ERROR_INSTALL_PACKAGE_OPEN_FAILED 1619 This installation package couldn't be opened. Verify that the package exists and is accessible, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
ERROR_INSTALL_PACKAGE_INVALID 1620 This installation package couldn't be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

Try deleting the .msi file in the Steam-Stellaris folder, then do a Steam Verify to make it come down again.

If that doesn't help, try this one instead:

Every time you run this game new copies of those logs will be made, even if it subsequently crashes .

Steam has an fps counter built in.

Using Bootcamp, are you saying? So under Windows? Because the Intel® HD Graphics 630 is supported there, and your Intel Iris Plus 655 ought to be better than that.

 Erm, okay then!

So you're all okay now, with that updated lib?

If this is repeatable from a save game file, AND there are no mods involved, then it is almost certainly a game bug, I'm afraid. Please make a new thread in the Bug Reports forum and attach that save there for QA to look into.

As for repairing the save, that's not really a service we offer. You might try asking the good folks over in User Mods if they can help, as they are accustomed to looking into those files to find problems.

Good luck and sorry for that problem!

Yours is clearly a different issue than the rest of this thread, as your save hangs for me too, on 2 different machines.

What could be different in your setups to cause this so consistently I do not know.

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Plus, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Lolok in the subscription page in your Steam account - is this sub listed there as current and valid?

IF SO Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

If this reproducible from a save file, and there are no mods at all in use, please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach the problem save there. Thanks.

As far as rescuing the save game, the good folks over in User Mods may be able to help.

Good luck!

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.
