Any mods involved? If so please try and duplicate the issue in a campaign that's never had any mods used on it.

If that does happen, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Europa Universalis IV/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (sett... Read more

We're really in the wrong thread to work on this problem!

I don't play this game so forgive a naive question - when you say run a server, you mean starting a CK3 MP have as a host, and just letting it run without the host actually playing, something like that?

As to your problem, your idea of switching the new machine to the old location is a good one - that will determine if it is in the machine, or the ISP/modem.

My guess would be some sort of hibernation or power saving mode.

"setting_framerate_cap"={

}
Did you set that cap to 60? If not please try that.

They will have to do a clean reinstall

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Eolanna said: Not forcing any compatibility layer only causes the launcher to crash when trying to open the EULA, though I suspect it is something else that's causing the crash as it crashed on the Launcher on "dcaf" as well. Even if it did not try to show the EULA, so I think it's something in the update (check) process that's crashing it.
Launcher 2023.14 has a bug where it crashes on Linux. That is fixed in later versions, but the update process can also fail - tricky! Can you see what launcher version you are on?

How did you fix it back then? And what change or update seemed to make it start happening again after that?

There's a mod error in that log. Please disable ALL mods while we work on this.

With that ASUS bios and 13th gen Intel CPU, you will be having the CPU/bios/AVX2 issue discussed here:

FYI running the game under Proton or any emulation layer is not strictly speaking supported. You also get this issue when running Stellaris as a purely native Linux executable?

Unfortunately we didn't get any details of the OP's hardware or software, so we can't tell if there is any commonality - say video system, or Linux distro.

You are on the latest AMD proprietary video driver, and the latest Mesa version?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Well, Steam will stop supporting obsolete Windows versions too, next month I believe. There's no reason for the launcher to support them after that!

PC Update 1.11.3

Same OOS errors each time is typically a game bug, I'm afraid.

If there are no mods in use: Please make a new thread in Bug Reports, and attach there the affected saved game and any OOS logs you get.

Sorry for that problem!

Has it always been like this? Or it was okay up to some point?

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

psvoid said: Currently 1.11 crashes a lot not only in MP, but also a lot in SP. Many bug reports here. One player is affected because he performed necessary actions for the crash.
The OP here only mentions MP crashes, and is the only one in his player group getting them.

If you are getting SP (or indeed MP) crashes, please start your own thread here. Thank you.

That is normal for EU4 when run that way. When you OK that message does the game start up alright?

We see no significant errors in those logs. That you can launch the games but the launcher cannot, usually an antivirus app is getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

hoi4.exe and dowser.exe (in the Steam HOI4 folder)

Our support system uses the same account and credentials as you've used successfully here, so I don't understand why you cannot log in there. What happens when you try?

As for the sync issues, do you get the same OOS error codes each time? Or different ones?

How large is the affected save game file?

Any mods in use?

Can you start and play a new unmodded campaign in MP okay?

How does graphics settings can help with the game logic?
Just because you see an error in that log, doesn't mean that's what caused the crash.

If it was a game bug, why does it only happen in MP, and only affect one of the players?

From what you say this is a launcher problem, not a game issue. If you run eu4.exe and hoi4.exe directly from file explorer, do they start okay?

In this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.
