Any mods involved? If so please test with a new galaxy with NO mods.

And have you tried the "cross store MP" version in the launcher? That uses a different MP server.

Shavanna said: What i found crazy is that one mod is identical, but just shows a different size (-300mb) compared to the ~3gb it has. Is there any way to fix it?
Have you determined for sure that one is the problem, you can play MP okay without it?

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters
Go to Windows Control panel.
Click on Network & Internet.
Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.

That happens if you run ck3.exe directly from File Explorer?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exeptions.log

To bring it to development attention via QA, you should make a new thread in Bug Reports.

Not sure there's a huge chance they'll make such fundamental changes to this old game but no harm in asking!

ItalyJay said: Well, reducing the graphics settings did reduce the loading on my CPU and I'm not using an integrated CPU-GPU. I know this because I've watched my CPU temps and they're down by as much as 10 degrees C or more. I also have the most up to date drivers for my GPU. When I'm running Stellaris on full settings I was often above 70C. Now, with the lower settings and being in Windowed mode I'm, at most, pushing high 50s or low 60s. I'm absolutely certain the issue is with the game and not my system. My frames were never an issue at the highest settings but I never really measured them. I run high end gam...

I'm not sure what you are saying in your Edit there - you can play together okay now?

If you can play okay with no mods enabled, it's best to then both just enable one mod and test. If that's okay both enable one more, test ... etc. That way you'll soon find which is the problem mod.

TonyPlaysGames said: I have completely removed and reinstalled my mods, to prevent a corrupted mod file, and I was able to make it to about 3 years into a game, when now it crashes.
This is while mods are enabled, is that right? Because we can't help with modded games here.

Does it start okay when ALL mods are disabled? If not Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign, NOT any existing one

Is that any better? If those don't help:

Was this game started under some previous patch? If so yu should revert to it in the Steam Betas tab for the game.

I hope that does it for you!

Has this game ever worked properly for you? Or it's always been like this?

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Plus, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Yes, moving a bad or corrupted save to a different location will never fix it. Sorry about that!

As to how and why it corrupted, hard to say. Was there a game , Steam or Windows crash while playing? An internet or Steam outage perhaps?

Ah, that is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

eu4.exe and dowser.exe (in the Steam EU4 folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2022.8/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

IF that doesn't help, also set each of those .exe files (EXCEPT eu4.exe !) to run as the Windows Admin user.

Then the game should run from Steam/our launcher, and enable all the DLCs.

So far as I know this is set by the game's own language, not separately. If the game UI is in English so should the advisor be.

But as you are modding the advisor, all bets are off! If you disable all mods and start a new test galaxy in English, what language does the advisor use?

Note that in the launcher, there are separate settings for the launcher language and the game language. Make sure you are using the right one!
