I've since started playing the game in Windowed mode only and turned down the graphics settings. I've got the the multisample level at 2, graphics quality at Medium, Bloom Quality is Off as is Lens Flare. Since doing this my game doesn't randomly shut down.

I have to be hones though, with my PC build and with all the games I play on it which are FAR MORE demanding on the PC than Stellaris, I have to think that the game is actually at fault and not my PC. This was only happening wi...

So we get up to 70c or so, but never as high as 80c, is that what you are seeing? I fo it doesn't seem likely that's the problem, which is unexpected to be honest.

What fps are you seeing in the game, anything much over 60?

I think there are newer AMD video drivers than yours from March, please update if so

That patch comes with a new ck3.exe . Have you added it to your antivirus app's exceptions lists?

Is it that the launcher runs okay but does not start the games? Or it does not start?

What happens if you run eu4.exe and hoi4.exe from file explorer directly?

How about the CPU temps?

Lots of mods in use there - does this happen in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?

What game version does the save game say say it is? If it says 1.6 or later you should be okay.

If it is earlier than that, you'll need to revert to that version in the Steam betas tab for the game.

So there is something about that particular save game file that prevents the game from saving it, would you say? Very weird, if so.

What happens when you do a manual save - any error?

Can you try installing the game on any other machine you have access to, to see if it happens there too?

On consoles there's really nothing much we in tech support can do for you, there's nothing to tweak or try.

Do you see other such issues reported here?

DylMan62 said: have both force enabled crossplay with the "-nakama" launch option
If you are both on Steam you do not need to do this. But if you do want to try that, use the droplist next to PLAY in our launcher to choose Cross store MP.

There was an update last night that fixed some MP issues. I suggest you both delete your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/cache folder, then try a new galaxy under that patch.

No, I don't - it's not a known issue with the game in general.

If you now start a new test campaign does it save okay, whether local or cloud?

Impossible to tell that caused that crash just from that screen I'm afraid.

There was a minor update to 1.6.1.2 overnight, but that's not been seen to cause any new problems.

Please report any remaining problems in the Bug Reports forum, if not already mentioned there, rather than here. Thanks!

I'm not aware of any way that part of a DLC can be available but not other parts - it's all or nothing!

That said I'm not across the specific content you mention, as I've not played this game for several years. But we'd certainly know by now if this was a bug in Golden Century for instance.

Cool, I say, that sounds like a good s'ploit-ish bandwagon to hop on... but.....

It's more likely the video system than memory; it looks like that machine only has an integrated Vega 8 video system, which is to say the video is done by the CPU rather than dedicated hardware.

All you can really do is reduce the graphics quality settings as much as you can stand - turn off trees, city sprawl, ambient objects, shadows etc. And run in fullScreen mode.

Good luck!

You are now getting crashes in a different nVidia module. Did you uninstall ALL nVidia software and reboot, before installing the driver again?

Also we see Windows update errors in there. Run the Update utility, apply everything it finds to fix, and eboot again.

Good luck!

No obvious problem in that file. Was there no settings.txt?

Tingeltangelflop said: would it be helpfull to check out whether any of my other paradox games (HOI4, Stellaris) work?
No harm in trying! Both via the launcher and directly from their .exe files, I'd suggest.

Can I get a new dxdiag.txt please, since the driver update. And install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here too, thanks.
