The Xbox/Gamepass version cannot use older game versions, so the OP's problem will be unrelated to yours.  

Was this problem campaign started under current or recent patches? Or some older one?  

Are there any mods involved here? I can't think of any other explanation for what you are seeing.

Looks like your AMD video driver could stand an update, so install the latest from here:

Then let's do a clean reinstall and eliminate those mods that are giving errors:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- unsubscribe from ALL mods in the Steam Workshop for this game

- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Yes, that is what should have happened. But is geForce Experience running? It may be trying to optimise that game, I've seen that actually make it run worse. If it's loaded, unload it and try again.

If however it's not loaded, you can load it and set it to cap the frame rate.  

We cannot help with that game or its accounts here I'm afraid. You need to contact the separate support facility in the game, which I understand you can do even without logging in.  

If a game version that used to perform well no longer does, that points to some new local problem or change.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?  

There's no separate Stellaris account, unless you are perhaps referring to the mobile game Galaxy Commander?

Typically problems don't start to 80c, but there's certainly no harm if getting better cooling! If this is a laptop, make sure all its air vents are free of dist - use a compressed air can to blow them out.

From that log file there's either a game bug, a corrupted save, or there are broken mods in use.

But I doubt any of those are related to your performance problem, which sounds exactly like overheating.

That will be the problem I'm afraid - those two patches are not fully save game compatible. The intent was you revert to 1.5.1.1 to finish any existing campaigns.

If it's not an Ironman game you can still do that, if you still have a save that was last saved under the 1.5.x patches not the 1.6.x ones.  

That log stops really quickly, it doesn't show any save game even loading. Please do that and play until the hang, then send us the log then. Thanks!

I think you'll find it's a choice of 3 MP options.  

If this only started happening 2 days ago, it seems unlikely to be due to game bugs as the game has not changed for weeks.

Is this all in one particular campaign, or also in any new one you might start? You mention mods - are there any involved?

I guess if there are any networking options in them, try those.  

I did get this from one affected Gamepass user:

In case anyone else had issues when they purchased the season pass from gamepass.
The season pass shows no downloads and the dlc by itself looks like you need to purchase it.
Click the dlc and click the purchase.
It’ll change and say you own this already.
Click the same box that now says you own this already and it’ll ask you to download it.
Do the download and boom it finally adds
You need to do it for both northern and RC downloads.

The game creates a log every time you start it. Delete that log file and create the problem again, does it make a new one?
