None of your images show up here.

But I'm not clear whether you are referring to a mod you are making or using, or the vanilla game?

So far as I know this is a mod issue. If you start a new galaxy with no mods at all enabled, do you still see this happen?

I don't think this is a similar issue at all. The OP's game loaded OK, just slowly. Yours stops and hangs, and never progresses. Always best to start your own thread in future, thanks.

Has it ever worked on this machine? Or never yet?

Can you swap that Philips TV for some other computer monitor and see if the game loads then? Just as a test, as the problem looks to be in th... Read more

To me that indicates a Windows problem, a corrupted user profile perhaps. Fixing that is well out of my skill set I'm afraid! You might need professional Windows suport help on that.

I have seen that cause performance problems with our games. Your Windows version did not show that it was out of date though.

English only in these forums please!

You may need help from Avast support in making sure it allows our launcher and game to read and write where they want to. I believe it has its own Ransomware function, have you looked into that?

No idea how your game can be corrupted when just installed, but unless you subscribed to and enabled mods too, that must be the case.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again. ... Read more

This looks the same as this report:
forum.paradoxplaza.com

Unable to load Game - indices/vertices error

I am having an issue with the game loading once opened. I have done clean installs 3-4 times, followed all advice on forums, such as downloading the x64 and x86 C++ versions Nothing seems to work. I checked the logs and I keep getting the same... forum.paradoxplaza.com... Read more

I have no idea, I am sorry. I'm not involved in the development of this game (or indeed of any game) nor do I have the time to play it in any seriousness.

Maybe try the main forum here?

You could attach here your saved game so the gameplay experts could look into that.

But having two will still cause this problem!

If this is the database/sqlite error still, it is not Paradox's problem to fix. It is caused by Avast and AVG, at least, getting in the way.

Do you have one of those?

Did you try opting into the launcher beta?

You can't have a mods playlist after that, I don't think?

What launcher version do you see?

CK3 has no settings.txt , that was an error on my part. I see no cause for this problem in those files.

Did you check the temperatures as I described?

Try editing that pdx_setting.txt file, make this change:
"renderer"={
version=0
value="OpenGL"
}
Does that change things at all?

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2021.10.1

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

If this is a repeatable crash from a particular save game file, you are all set to report this as a bug! Please make a new thread in Bug Reports, and attach the save file there, along with anything QA might need to do in the game to trigger it.

Then just put that save aside, and try it as you see new patches come out for this game. A demonstrated crash bug ike that would normally be fixed in the next 1 or 2 patches, depending on release schedules.

Sorry for that problem!

Lethos8 said: Also for some reason in the ParadoxInteractive folder, whenever I launch a game after any reinstall, no matter how clean it is, a new "Crusader kings 2" folder is created, even though it hasn't been installed since last summer.
That is normal. EU4 makes that so it can deal with games exported from CK2.

I had them do a clean reinstall. They never replied to that suggestion so I can only assume it worked.

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

I'm sure you are right there, except that a grid does extend through a building (a dome I assume you mean?).

Back when I had time to play this game, I always made one connected grid only.

So again, if older versions of the game used to be fast but now are not, this is a local problem rather than issues with the latest game patches. We're basically reduced to guessing what might have gone on in your machine/Windows to have caused this.

Were you unable to locate the other files I asked for? Did you check the temperatures as I described?

Check if Windows is in Games mode, if so undo that.

If you have these apps/utilities running, please unload them as a test: MSI Afterburner, Citrix Workspace, any other performance management/enhancement utilities
