A couple of different errors in CK3.exe in that dxdiag, very unusual. And some other Windows errors, not 100% sure what to make of those.

Can you again please run all these installers:

Still getting all those errors I see. Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- unsubscribe from ALL mods in the Steam Workshop for this game
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game BEFORE restoring the user_empire_designs.txt file and save game files, and be... Read more

Not a tech support issue so moved to main forum. If the community agrees it's likely to be a bug, post in Bug Reports please.

If you revert to a previous game version that used to run alright for you, does it still? Or does it have this problem too now?

Those files show game version 1.3.1 but current is 1.4.2 - have you opted into a beta or something? If so please opt out of all betas while we work on this.

Unfortunately the dxdiag is not much use as I think you hit the Save All Info button before it finished loading. Please try again, but wait until the green load bar is finished first, thanks.

Rest assured we're investigating this further and both the CKIII and tech team are trying to figure out the cause (and a solution!) but sadly there isn't a confirmed workaround for the time being :(. We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.
  3. Cli...

The launcher records that setting in pdx_settings.txt , then th egame writes it into settings.txt when it runs. Are both files successfully updated when yoiu make a change there?

And how are you determining whether the game is in fullScreen or borderless?

That is why you get those mod errors in the log, yes. Whether that has anything to do with your game speed I don't know.

You may as well update that nVidia driver to June 2021:
Download Drivers | NVIDIA
And there are Windows update errors at the end of that dxdiag, I have seen those cause issues to our games. Run the Update app, does it start okay? If it finds anythign to apply do that and reboot. Does that help the problem at all?

We see two bluescreens in that dxdiag, which are always driver or hardware problems. Were they associated with this game or something else? Next time one happens record the text on the screen please.

Has this always happened ever since you've had this game? Or it was okay up to some point?

The first two lines of that error log point to a problem in user_empire_designs.txt . Are you playing with some customised races, or do you get this issue with the default ones too? You could try moving that file out then starting a new galaxy as any of the default races.

No.

You have a bunch of mod errors in that log, so do all testing for this issue with NO mods at all enabled please.

If versions that used to work fine are now slow, fairly clearly there is some local problem here.

In your reinstall, did you make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you... Read more

You don't do this in the client. When you log into that website you'll see your Steam cloud contents.
