No need for the launcher logs, but can I get new copies of dxdiag, error, system and pdx_settings.txt please?

If we don't see anything new, I fear a Windows reset or reinstall is in your near future ... !

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Go to the Documents/paradox/stellaris/ folder, move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races. Then delete that whole folder, does that help the error?

You ALL use the Gamepass edition, is that right?

Try deleting the contents of the Documents/paradox/ck3/ folder, EXCEPT any saved games there move out to somewhere else.

If you still get this problem then, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

I don't recall ever seeing that error before, but I guess the game cannot find your video system. Please try this:

- uninstall your existing AMD driver with this tool:

You should add steam.exe and C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2021.1/paradox launcher.exe to that list.

In the game launcher please set Display mode to windowed.

IF that doesn't help, Has the game ever run OK on this computer? Or never?

Are you playing from the Steam client or the standalone Paradox client (aka launcher v1)?

I am certain it is permanent. There were map changes between the versions, it's almost impossible to work around that.

One thing though, I couldn't even see a 1.2.2 save have under 1.3 unless I ticked the "see incompatible versions" box in the game. Is that what everyone is doing to experience this problem, or is that not happening for all players somehow?

If there are no mods involved and you have the correct version and checksum, probably best to post the OOS logs in the Bug Reports forum.

We only sell items for the Steam/Paradox edition of the game. We are not resellers for the MS/Xbox store.

You'll need to either seek a refund for the DLCs you bought from us (paradox.zendesk.com) or buy the base game from us too.

1.2.x saves are not save game compatible with 1.3 and will indeed crash the game, I have several reports of this now.

You must revert to 1.2.2 in the Steam betas tab for the game to continue them.
