Hey everyone, when Season 18 went live matchmaking values from prior seasons weren’t being respected. We’re extending the Role Queue Beta Season while we work on a fix for this bug, we expect to be ready for Season 18 early next week.
(A side effect of extending the beta season, the competitive card will say the season is ending in less than a minute.)

I would also like to add that the same issue applies to the Wrecking Ball's Adaptive Shield, but I wasn't aware of that until today.

Ugh, today in, "Overwatch is held together by spaghetti code and jerry rigged logic"
The details for this bug are super interesting. Overwatch is mostly data driven for gameplay. In this particular case this bug is the result of one checkbox that toggles using aim to adjust a target tracking area.
Some bugs are caused by complicated code that is difficult to maintain over time, but it’s rare that those bugs are hero ability bugs.

We looked into this and we are targeting a bug fix for the 1.40 release.

Hey there we’re aware of this bug in the VS AI mode. We were unable to fix this mode with our quick fix yesterday but will get a bug fix out in an upcoming bug fix patch. I don’t have an exact date but we’re targeting next week currently. Cheers

Hey folks, we’re rolling out a server side bug fix now to all regions and platforms which will remove the unintended role limits from Quick Play.
As Molly mentioned on our forums, Role Queue will be fully available in Quick Play beginning on September 1.
