Sorry, that wasn't well explained yesterday. The Level 30 Character Boost is going live today, with Episode 3.

What intrigues me the most about that, is what does it mean for your main story progress when you come “back” to DC as one of those boosted characters. Is the story content still available to you? Did you just skip the story and now the map is the end game map?
While you can re-play the missions of course, you will have "finished" the story if you boost your character. This needs to be done to allow you to have access to all the Skills immediately when you got to New York.
That’s called marketing. 😁 If people don’t watch the stream they will think they need to preorder to get that bonus.
To clarify, whenever you buy Warlords of New York you are getting the Level 30 Character Boost. The pre-order bonus is that you will be able to use the boost immediately after today's maintenance.
We have a fix going in for this in Episode 3, this month.
That's not the Honey Badger. This is the Honey Badger.
I'm 100% positive that's a HK417 (MR308) utilising the G28 handguard in black. Here's a better picture of it from the video showing the rail, flash hider and receiver.
Here's a H&K HK417 and an MR308 for reference.
There's several parts that are the same. The flash hider. The front rails/handguard design (including the notch right at the front on the top rail). The receiver design.
So could this be a new rifle, or is it just a background weapon for cinematics that accidentally made its way into the hands of a Division agent? Can /u/ChrisGansler clarify this if possible?
I can only confirm that there are weapons in Episode 3 we haven't mentioned yet. :)
You all are never comment on here to this extent. Tells me yall knew this was a bad idea from the start too.
I mean, check all of the other State of the Game threads. I'm always posting right afterwards and while it's happening. Totally fair to criticize us but please choose something that we can actually address.
Thanks for the response chris. But im sure many others like myself do NOT use twitter. If you guys have no new news on content, could you also address reddit in a post telling us xyz will happen instead of abc? I think a lot of us were caught off guard.
Look man. I know y'all cant show your hand too soon, but we need some real substance here.
Joker posts a State of the Game thread a couple of hours before the show and uses the information we post on Twitter / in the last show. You can definitely find that on here.
OP's post says not this week, and not the last week of February. That either gives us the week of 17-21, or it's getting delayed to March?
Seeing everyone else's sentiment, my money's on March.
I'll take that money!
This is why I said this episode feels tone deaf.
You're always going to have people complain. Personally I don't think "people complained" is a valid justification for not paying attention to what people are being most vocal about. This SotG would have made more sense in a week where you hadn't just finished telling us for two weeks how you're essentially remaking the core of the game. Respectfully, it's just a strange time to expect this subject to be received well.
People can totally complain about the show and that they feel it wasn't satisfying. We are making sure to give you guys a heads-up on what the topic of the State of the Game is, either on the show itself but definitely on the announcement tweet on Tuesday.
We understand that the current way of communicating about Episode 3 is not very clear for everybody and that's something we constantly bring up with all other teams that are involved in these processes.
Episode 3 is the continuation of the story and has a couple of characters that not everybody might be familiar with.
Dude, I would be surprised if more than 5 players can tell you a single name of a TD2 character, good or bad.
Well, good thing we recapped the story then. :D
In all seriousness, we know that the story can be quite hidden and as Episode 3 has two additional narrative stories we thought it's a good time to recap.
Ok well read the comments on this thread....that’s all I’ll say about it
I mean that's literally why I replied to you. :D I'm reading the comments here and I've been reading the comments about us doing State of the Game only when we have big news. A lot of the decisions on community communication are made with player feedback in mind.
Last year we skipped a couple of weeks with State of the Game and players told us that's also not what they want. We can't make everybody happy, obviously, but we think this works best for most in the community and for us.
So if rehashing the entire of story the games up until now is the focus of the stream, what's the point unless their unveiling something new to the story?
Episode 3 is the continuation of the story and has a couple of characters that not everybody might be familiar with. We therefore decided to recap the story so far and have announced that last week on the show and yesterday on Twitter.
edit: removing a "not"
You should roll this up to them...obviously no one here wants this content from them! If they don’t have news don’t bother streaming
That's actually not true for all players. We discussed this quite extensively with players and internally. A lot of commenters have said they want us to be there and talk about the game, even if it's not brand new info. We understand not everybody feels the same way, so we always try to announce the topic of the show a day before on Twitter, so people who don't care about a specific part can skip the show if they want to.
So no new info and theyre just rehashing the story we all already played?
Welp. thanks Massive.
We did! As announced last week and yesterday on Twitter. We knew that today's show would not be popular with everybody and letting you guys know what we're talking about early on should hopefully set some expectations.
We'll be back with other things next week, stay tuned.
Ok am I the only one that noticed Hamish say something along the lines of "I can't wait to the new dark zone its gonna be awesome"??? At 42:18 while they show the flamethrower gameplay.
Rewound it several times and it def sounds like he said that. Later on they realise there was no gameplay audio.
Edit: 42:18, not the 48th minute.
Hamish read a comment in chat saying "Can't wait to see this in the Dark Zone" and then added himself "Me too, it's going to be cool."
Off-topic question: The cleaners are only available to fight in those two new york missions right???
Just asking to see if thats a new faction thats been added into the base game content, or are they just guest for those two missions only.
For now they're still New York based, yes. We do see a lot of comments about shaking up missions and adding different factions to it to make them feel a little more "random". So, the door is not closed but it would be something for a future update.
I used matchmaking to complete all 3 missions and the game said chapel is unlocked, but the door remained closed. Redid all 3 in story mode as me as the host and it unlocked. Apparently it doesn’t unlock if we do the missions for the first time via matchmaking and in other difficulties higher than Story.
Thanks for the details. I'll forward it to the team.
My question is only this: Will there be a limited time event for episode 3? =x
Not currently planned. If this changes we will let you know.
I hope that the damage numbers on the chameleon are not final.....my chatterbox has more damage than that thing......What was it like 14k? 😂
As said on stream, it was a dev build and the numbers you've seen might not be representative for the final build.
We're looking into it, sorry for the inconvenience. We're beginning to think Kenly College is haunted...
