Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I actually just had a meeting where I pitched some changes to the yak track and some of your suggestions were amongst the points raised. Further discussions are needed to see what we can get done in time for the next track but some positive changes are being made :D

Hey,

Could you clarify what you mean by 27+12 please? Do you mean you ended up getting 39 stars? While the recipe has an ingredient of 500 patches, if you were to skip all the ingredients at once it would cost you 1420 patches. Doing this would only get you 28 stars from your patches which seems to be what has happened here. Is that what has happened? If not more information would be great please.

Thanks, Camel :)

Thank you. I have passed this onto the team for them to look into.

I used the skip button on the right hand side after that with no problems until this morning where it use 1751 patches on x60 acadia logs for the crystal hammer recipe.

I have also submitted a bug report ingame.

edit: It was yew logs apparently not acadia logs.

Thanks for posting a bug report. Hopefully this can provide us a bit more information and better track the issue you are experiencing :)

Mod Camel, The same thing happens to me. I press “Skip All” And it will use every single patch (more than is required) on the patch slot. Also just lost 1751 trying to skip acadia logs. Please fix this.

I’ve lost thousands of patches like this.

To skip just a single ingredient you should use the skip button on the right-hand side of the interface and not the skip-all button. I have put in a feedback job for confirmation button to be added when pressing skip-all to hopefully remove this issue in the future :)

Hey.

Were you pressing the skip all button? The patch skip cost that shows on the right-hand panel is the cost to skip only the selected ingredient. If you press the skip all button it will attempt to skip as many of the ingredients in the recipe as you have the tokens for. In the case of the instance where the correct number of patches were removed from you, this might be due to you only having enough patches for that specific ingredient and none of the others.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you were experiencing something different. :)

My biggest issue with the new event, and pretty much every event in the past 5-ish years, is that they have been solely focused on "grind or pay". Is it outside of Jagex's capabilities to create something that is just simply enjoyable and fun?

I would be interested in hearing the kind of things you would like to see with these kind of events. Personally I class myself more as a Pvmer and skilling events such as the beach don't appeal to me as much. I like the idea of events complimenting the way you want to play rather than dictating it. Using Yak track as an example, I really like the 'Play Runescape' task. I can do whatever I want within the game and the event will slowly progress as well. In terms of fun events, I imagine something like Cabbage Facepunch which could start out as an event, and then remain afterwards with some of the rewards. What kind of stuff would you be looking for?

Though I dislike how it's not in order. It kept showing me event boxes when I didn't realize I had unlocked something. Cause had to scroll down. Would prefer sort by level as well.

Level order sounds like a good call. I think a little popup showing new unlocks whenever the artisan levels up might help with the other problem you're encountering :)

This is feedback I have seen from a few people now. We will look to add this feature for the next run of the event :)

First, THANK YOU for a real, detailed response. This really outlines the perspective Jagex has towards this, and the move towards improving MTX in the game. I think the “flaw” right now is some people disagree with the direction of the art for the game. It’s a 20 year old game, and so newer and more modern designs (like this update) just don’t flow and blend in with the current game world. If there were a way to help cover and update the world quicker I would assume people would be less annoyed as a whole from this

Hey, Thanks for your post.

-The idea behind the graphical rework was to leave behind something once an event ended that could slowly update the world to the newer art style. As a small project, the issue we had here was knowing where to stop. We had looked at updating the cliffs and the side of the mountain but the reality was this was out of scope for the project. From a QA perspective, environment changes can add large amounts of work due to checking quests/clues etc which would have taken us past the deadline. It seems the collective opinion is the 'all or nothing approach' which while I agree with, means smaller projects like this will have less impact which is a shame.

-I think a learning we can take from this event is to allow some of the recipes to be completed without using event currency as an ingredient. The level system was in place to give a sense of progression through the event, similar to how you level up your actual skills to unlocker newer and bette...

Hey. We have a job that should fix this issue. I have spoken to the relevant people to get this out with the next game update :)

This is a cool idea of having recipes we gather resources to craft and level up a dwarf artisan who makes us cosmetics, tools, and enhancers. I get as an event not all of it could stay but leaving the dwarf, cosmetics, and maybe a few of the enhancers? (Taking away the dwarf tools and the majority of the enhancers) and also removing the patch cost at the end. Not unlike how the WE against Tuska after being over left the anima isles.

Otherwise I think the only real issue with this setup is that patch costs time gate it and we can't see recipes ahead of time. It would be nice to see the latter so I could work on gathering resources when I just need to waste time grinding out patches.

Unfortunately none of the event will be staying behind once it has concluded. This feedback has been heard though and its something I am personally trying to push towards for future events.

I have put in a job to allow for recipe ingredients to be viewed before they are unlocked. As for the patches, we will be looking over the data once the event concludes to see if there are places we can reduce or remove the patch requirments for a future run.

This event set-up the base system for tool overrides. We still need to set-up tools such as Hatchets and Mattocks which will likely happen for the next event. The system works differently to the wardrobe so adding invention tools etc might not be as simple.

Comment

Patches are kept once the event ends. These will be able to be used again for the next event.

Thanks for the feedback! This is an event system we are looking to run again in the future. Would be open to hearing any feedback and suggestions you have on how we can improve :)
