Sorry for following up so late, unfortunately the logs didn’t have any useful information for this issue.

If you’re still able to consistently reproduce this issue, I have some questions:
Is the bugged character Hardcore? Are they Character Found?
eme_obs reported that characters affected by this bug also don’t die upon reaching zero health. Does this occur for you?
You mentioned the first character created in a play session always works, while future characters don’t. Is that consistent? Are there any other discrepancies you notice between the first and future characters?
Another user reported the issue occurring when entering the game in offline mode (at the login screen, before choosing an offline character). Are you doing the same? If so, does the issue still occur if you enter the game in online mode before selecting an offline character?
Does the issue occur even if you exit game in the first area, The Forest Trail?
How are you exiting the ...

We’ve reproduced the issue internally and will work on a fix. Thanks for the report!

Hey all, sorry about this. We’ve consistently failed to reproduce this issue internally so it’s been difficult to find a proper resolution to the problem.

We have another change planned that should hopefully address this.

The issue does not require Smite to be cast, only for it to be present on your action bar while using traversal skills.
Today’s patch didn’t include this fix. We’ll likely try to get this into a hotfix next week, though I can’t make any promises.

This may be due to not having the latest update we released today. Try exiting the game and checking in Steam for an update to download.

Boardman’s Plank is unusual in that its first set piece bonus occurs with just a single item of the set equipped, and has the effect of limiting you to one active companion. That’ll be what’s limiting you to one Storm Crow.

We’ve just now deployed the patch with this fix!

If you notice this occurring for one of your characters again, could you upload the player log from that play session? This will likely help us figure this out. Thanks!

We’ve found the issue. And you were exactly right, DracoSeraph.
Until we get a fix deployed, the workaround is to either avoid casting Smite or avoid casting traversal skills. Not ideal, but it will allow you to play the game until we get the fix out at least.

We’ve found the issue. While waiting for a fix, you can avoid the problem by ensuring Ring of Shields is not active while loading into the echo.

Can you share your skill tree for RoS?

Interesting, in which case Ring of Shields is my new top suspect. The inconsistency makes this difficult to nail down, so any additional details about what might seem to cause the problem is appreciated.

If I immediately move my char, then there is zero chance of the quests appearing.

Do you mean moving your character right before selecting the echo, or immediately after it finishes loading? Or are you somehow able to move while it’s loading?

For those experiencing this: are you using Smelter’s Wrath, at least once during the play session?
Thanks for mentioning this thread elsewhere Vapourfire, I hadn’t seen this thread. So far Eagle’s tests have demonstrated that the issue appears to be specific to Smelter’s Wrath, but some additional confirmation would be good, since it’s a strange connection.

Does this mean there was no lag during that echo, and you were able to kill enemies on your way to the objective just fine, but then the objective boss was missing?

We haven’t deployed a patch with the fix yet, so it’s not available to players currently. Hopefully we’ll be able to get the patch out soon!

The 0.9c hotfix addressed the known issue of empowered timelines not unlocking in offline play. If this is still occurring for some people, we’ll need some information to help us figure out what’s going wrong:

Is the issue occuring in offline or online play?
At the center island, do the 3 indicators light up to show that you’ve completed the 3 requisite timelines?
When you approach the center island, does the camera pan over to the catalyst in the middle? If so, can you then walk over and click on that catalyst and receive the “empowered timelines unlocked” message? If the camera does not return control to you after it pans over the catalyst, that’s also valuable information.
Is the center catalyst accessible, or is the ground not formed around it, preventing access?
Does any of this change if you leave the Monolith of Fate and re-enter it?

Thanks!

Sorry about this. Could you provide a player log from a session where you attempted to enter game on an offline character?

A possible fix may be to try verifying the integrity of game files. In your Steam library, right click Last Epoch → Local Files → Verify integrity of game files
Let me know if that reports any files needing to be replaced, or addresses the problem.

If the issue persists, uploading your character saves could also help us try to reproduce the problem. The Saves folder for offline characters is in the same location as the player log, so you can zip the entire Saves fold...
