VALORANT is currently CPU limited for high end machines. This basically means that if you've got a pretty modern GPU and you're playing at 1080p (say, a 1050 or better), then you're most likely going to be limited by your CPU.
We're working on optimizing it further :-)
I just upgraded my i7 6600k to a ryzen 7 3800x and i diddnt got any improvements in term of FPS. (I upgraded because i wasnt able to get 240+ fps steady for my 240 hz display, most of the time I was able to but sometimes i wasnt and I experienced tearing.)
Overall its maybe a little more stable with the FPS but for example on the map "Bind" its horribly dropping towards the 160 mark! To make a little comparison: In CSGO my FPS increased by around 160 and I get 350-400 FPS Stable in 5v5's! (capped!)
In the final analysis I can tell that the upgrade that I mainly did for Valorant wasn't an upgrade at all and the devs need to fix the issues with AMD Ryzen CPU'...
